The place is lovely, the town is adorable and the area is gorgeous. It was perfect for our group of 10 thirty somethings. Dominic was super organized and gave us lots of tips for the area.

“Perfect location. Lovely house.”

We stayed in August, 10 of us, two families. The Buttery offers excellent well laid out, spacious accommodation. Well decorated and perfectly situated. The beach is just across the road and so is the pub ! We had a lovely family holiday in a house which pretty much has it all. We would definatly stay again. If there is one criticism, and it's only small, it would be good if there were more towels and tea towels, one each is not enough. There is a washing machine but on holiday thinking about washing is not high on the agenda. But as I said overall excellent and definately recommended.

“A beautiful place which easily met and exceeded the needs of our group.”
Reviewed 17 June 2013 for a stay in June 2013

We stayed a week in this beautiful home. All beds were comfortable, bathrooms, kitchen and utility room well equipped.the general areas are spacious and decorated tastefully. The house is on a main lane through the village but were untroubled by any traffic and our home location is very quiet and rural.I found Dominic very helpful, courteous and prompt in any and all communications. There are some beautiful walks from the door. Woolacombe is walkable for adults and older children and the local pub across the road is recommended but bust to book to ensure a table if eating as it get very busy.
Lynmouth and Lynton are well worth a visit as children ours loved the train and water canons in the gorge and as big chIldren they still enjoyed both.

“Comfortable, well equiped house”

We had a great week at the Buttery with children and grandchildren. Plenty of space and the 3 bathrooms meant that there was no queues for showers. Well equiped large kitchen made it easy to cook for 8. Beds were comfortable with good quality sheets. Lovely walks on Morthoe and handy for local amenities. Access to the closest beach was really too step for little legs and we tended to go to our favourite beach, Putsborough Sands. We wanted to order food in advance and Tesco still has it listed as "commercial". Despite numerous phone calls we couldn't get it changed so ordered from Sainsburys with no problem at all. A good family holiday house.

Management Response
23 Jun 2013
Dear Ann, very glad that the holiday went well. Thanks for alerting me to the issue about Tesco delivery address. I have contacted Tesco and they have now corrected their address database so that The Buttery and Cromlech House now appear correctly and ordering to this address will be no problem from now on. :) Dom

The kitchen was just the place for us all to gather and share food and wine. facilities were fantastic. The bedrooms were a joy to sleep in. piano, games were an added bonus. A very relax place to spend time with people you love.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Buttery, the house is really well laid out and the kitchen is a lovely space for just chilling out.
Rooms are spacious and comfortable and Mortehoe is a friendly village with all you need on the doorstep.

“A great house for a large group perfectly located for surfing, walking and relaxing.”

Stayed at the Buttery with family of 10 with teenagers. The information we were given before we arrived was very useful. The house was lovely, well equipped, clean and recently modernised to a high standard. We went with two dogs and it was more difficult not having a garden for them to go in but the countryside is right on the doorstep.
It is a perfect location for surfing, walking, running and relaxing. We would highly recommend it.
