I went in here on my own with the dog. Didn't feel uncomfortable at all. Lovely food. There wasn't anything I didn't like.

This is a very welcoming pub after a surf or a long walk. The village of Mortehoe is magical and an ideal destination for an active day out. Lunch or dinner at the Ship Aground is a great opportunity to relax or get warm. Hearty dishes such as homemade steak pie or and steak & kidney pudding sit alongside other pub favourites like burgers and baguettes. The beers are always good and its's generally busy.

The place can get a little swamped by young families during busy lunchtimes and short of offering to take the little blighters for a short flight off the nearby cliffs, you're going to have to put up with some screaming kids while you eat, but they're everywhere these days. I can't recommend contraception enough.

The views across the Bristol channel from most of the windows are breathtaking. Especially nice on a cold, wet or wild day when you're in the comforting warmth of the pub!

Formula 1 is shown amongst other sports on the discreet televisions, which can be quite good to know.

Definitely recommended.

The food was fresh and tasty and the service was very good. We visited on a busy evening but were not let down by the food or the service. Would visit again.

It is a lovely pub, food is ok although my mackerel salad had loads of salad and very little mackerel. The pub is dog friendly, service is reasonably good. The wooden tables resting on barrels need to go though, very uneven and caused a few spills.
