9 people and 3 dogs met here for a quick bite.
Initially we were not sure about eating here as the prices seemed rather pricey but the other places in Mortehoe were not serving much food, so returned and had a nice surprise.
Now I would usually have a cream tea but they did not do fruit scones, so I decided on a tuna and sweetcorn sandwich and peppermint tea.
The sandwich was lovely, fresh granary bread and a nice side salad. Now I would make more of the salad on the menu as £4 for a sandwich is a bit much but coupled with the salad, fresh bread and loads of filing I was more than happy.
And the peppermint tea was a pot that must have poured 3-4 cupfuls, so for £1.70 very good.
What I wasn't keen on was the lack of a complete cream tea at reasonable money.
You could have a scone, jam and cream for £2.20, so double this and add tea at £1.70 and you get a cream tea for £6.10, rather pricey. Why not do the lot for £5-5.50 and get loads of takers?
The tea garden is set right in the heart of the village opposite the church and there is a good sized council car park just around the corner and priced very reasonably.
The dogs were made welcome, which was great and the service was swift and very friendly.
Overall very good.
