“Just the Job!”
Reviewed 3 March 2015 for a stay in February 2015

Our children bought us a stay here as a Christmas present.
From our first contact to going home everything was fantastic.
We made our choices for breakfast and selected our complimentary bottle of wine.
Even though Overcott House is some distance off the road up a track, we found it with no trouble, the directions given being spot on.
Overcott House is a tranquil haven set in lovely grounds, with extensive views from the guest bedroom.
After Vaughan had taken our bags to our room we were then given a tour of what was at our disposal during our stay.
Close to the bedroom was our own private bathroom and then a sitting room with settee, TV and all the usual hot drink makings. In the fridge was a lovely bottle of Rose and a bowl of scrummy chocs.
Downstairs was another snug - where we were served with a delicious Devon Cream tea.Its Devon so the jam should be on top of the cream!
Off the snug was old dairy which has been converted into what could be described as the entertainment room.
A huge screen and a pile of DVD's will keep you entertained if the weather turns nasty,
take a look at the fantastic butchers blocks here. These are hand made by Vaughan...
As this was an anniversary trip we booked dinner at the Masons Arms, a Michelin starred pub nearby.
Vaughan drove us there and collected us later.
After a very comfortable nights sleep we rose completely rested.
An extensive and delicious breakfast set us up for our onwards journey.
In a nutshell Julie and Vaughan are the perfect hosts, providing everything that their guests require.
Spotlessly clean, warm, cosy and spacious accommodation make this a great retreat to the country.
Our only regret was that we stayed just the one night!

“Perfect for a relaxing getaway”
Reviewed 24 February 2015 for a stay in February 2015

Overcott House is a real treasure of a B&B. It is off the beaten track, so benefits from being lovely and peaceful, yet is within approx 20 mins drive of a selection of lovely pubs and around 30 mins to one hour away from lots of attractions and places to visit.
The suite itself was spotless and spacious and all our needs were thought of. There is also a fab cinema snug, where you can relax and enjoy films on a big screen (great for rainy afternoons!)
Julie and Vaughan can also offer great tips on where to go, eat and explore.
Breakfast was fantastic - a great selection is on offer and you'll certainly be able to fuel yourself up for a day of exploring! If you are eating in one of the local pubs, it's best to book a day or so in advance to ensure you can get a table as they seem to be busy, even during off peak. Great pub food can be found from a range of local establishments. We ate at the Poltimore Inn, the Stag's Head Inn and had a delicious Sunday roast at the London Inn, Molland. All were great.
We definitely recommend Overcott House and would love to return.

“Perfect place to relax and unwind”
Reviewed 8 February 2015 for a stay in December 2014

House was really cosy and spotlessly clean. Was a surprise to have so much space to ourselves - large bedroom, bathroom, living room + cinema room. Lovely comfy bed and huge bay windows in the bedroom but proper thick curtains so we slept really well.

Lots of choice for breakfast, everything was perfectly cooked and really good quality. Hosts made us feel welcome and at ease. Vince offered a free taxi service to the local pub (Michelin starred!) for dinner, so we could both have a few drinks.

Definitely hope to return in summer when we can make the most of the beautiful gardens :)

“Just perfect”
Reviewed 22 November 2014 for a stay in November 2014

Spent a lovely night at overcoat house. A beautiful b&b with lovely hosts who make you feel completely welcome in their beautiful home. More than just a room , huge bedroom with stunning views over the garden and devon countryside, lounge with TV and fridge we had the luxury package which includes wine chocolates and flowers and cream tea. Then to complete the experience a cinema room ! Spotlessly clean beautifully decorated we are so pleased we stayed here to celebrate our birthday's then some big in personnel hotel. Also recommend the platter Julie and Vaughan offer for supper. Plan to return.

“Perfect hosts, perfect place to escape and unwind”
Reviewed 11 October 2014 for a stay in October 2014

A truly wonderful place to escape from day to day pressures. A great base, but also a super place just to relax and "be". Lovely house and grounds. Nothing was too much trouble for Julie and Vaughan, who were such warm, welcoming and thoughtful hosts. They went our of their way to give us the perfect weekend, tailored to our every need and wish. The attention to detail in terms of the rooms, decor, gardens, food etc was superb - a real labour of love. Sadly, we didn't have time to make use of all the wonderful goodies on offer such as the cinema room, although we very much enjoyed and appreciated being chauffeured to and from the local Michelin starred pub restaurant by Vaughan - what a lovely thing to do for your guests. We will certainly be returning - soon.

“Perfect Weekend Getaway”
Reviewed 1 September 2014 for a stay in August 2014

The perfect place to unwind. Beautifully furnished, very comfortable and plenty of nice little touches, I particularly liked the cinema room and having our own private lounge to relax in. The owners are very friendly and helpful, without being over the top. Everything about the place was excellent. We'll definitely return.

“Romantic break”
Reviewed 13 August 2014 for a stay in July 2014

Met or exceeded all my expectations. Beautiful setting, relaxing couple of days. The suite was very comfortable and had the feel of a country house but without the hassle. Vaughan and Julie were very attentive without being over bearing.
Perfect for a base for a couple of days roaming around Devon.
Great B&B, will certainly come back.
