“A wonderful find”
Reviewed 5 December 2012

Although I only spent one night at Higher Biddacot Farm I was most impressed. The bed was one of the comfiest ever and I enjoyed sharing a delicious freshly cooked breakfast with the family. I'd love to return for longer as I'm sure it would make an excellent base for exploring North Devon. Many thanks for your kind hospitality.

Room Tip: My room was a lovely old one with fantastic plasterwork on the ceiling.

We spent one night in this B&B and will definitely go back. A fantastic family-run B&B with great food and beautiful surroundings. The owners absolutely make this place - when they say make yourself at home, they mean it. After a stoll across the nearby fields to the local pub, we had an early-evening Shire-horse pulled carriage ride, which was fantastice. Highly recommended.

Higher Biddacott Farm is one of our favourite B&Bs. It's an ideal day to wake up in the medieval farm house; have a scrumptious cooked breakfast; take the kids body boarding at Croyde; then walk to the local pub "The Bell" for a meal and drink or two, before returning to Higher Biddacott and falling to sleep in a warm cosy bed. Ahh bliss!

We wanted a farm B&B for our weekend holiday with our son, his wife and their new baby. We couldn't have found a better farm! Fiona put our family in a little suite of rooms set off from everyone else. She had accommodations ready for our little four month old grand son and made the new parents feel completely comfortable and at ease with their first holiday away with their son. We had a nice drive to a nearby town for dinner and exploring. I enjoyed my morning talking with Johnathan as he fed his beautiful horses. I really can't say enough about our stay. I highly recommend Higher Biddacott farm to anyone looking for a farm stay B&B.

We chose Higher Biddacott Farm because it is near to the RHS gardens at Rosemoor. This was a truly wonderful place to stay - Jonathon keeps and trains the most beautiful, gentle, heavy horses, and it's worth coming here just to view the deep rapport between man and animals. These gentle giants obviously love their master, and it was a privilege to see them. Apart from that very moving experience, the 16th century farmhouse is a very interesting old building, beautifully restored in a style in keeping with it's age. We had the double bedroom with the gorgeous platerwork ceiling, which is a work of art, and by itself worth the stay. Jonathon & Fiona have managed to fit a cleverly made ensuite toilet & shower into the room without ruining the ambience of the place, the beds were clean and very comfortable. One tiny flaw, no hairdryers are provided, but that's minor. A fabulous place to stay.

Room Tip: Our room had a wonderful old ornate plasterwork ceiling

We stayed here for three nights in July 2011 as we were attending a friends wedding. Fiona was kind enough to pick us up from the train station and then treated us to some exceptional home made choc bic's and a cup of tea. Our room was large and had a lovely view. The breakfasts were fantastic and when we needed somewhere to eat on the day after the wedding when I had a very sore head Fiona cooked up a fine Sunday roast for us!! Basically the service here with a combination of lovely hosts, a stunning location and comfy rooms for a bargain price would make it a great choice for anyone looking to visit the area.
