taking my mum in law and family out for a mothering sun lunch was a terrible experience!! we were ushered into another room by a young girl (who did not seem very with it at all ) then we had to help her to put two tables together pulling and tugging we then waited half an hour before she took our drinks order !! to be told they did not have sparkling water !then when they arrived half an hour later (three of those were water nothing complicated!!!! ) the older lady said she did not look in the cupboard they are only children!!! WELL YOU SHOULD NOT EMPLOY THEM IF THAT IS THE CASE AND IN ANY CASE THEY NEEDED SOME TRAINING )!! nearly an hour later the food arrived the beef was so tough we could not cut it let alone chew it !! gravy was too thick , yorkshire puddings burnt ! I have travelled quite a bit and been in loads of pubs /hotels but that was the worst we have ever had !!! its a place we shall never be visiting again also the toilets needed repainting black mold on the walls nothing very clean dust everywhere so all in alll it was awful .

Called in this evening at nearly 9pm after dropping passengers in nearby village, and just in time for food. Two steaks twenty quid was excellent! Didn't need steak knives, tender as anything. Will be returning! Staff/owners lovely friendly people. Great pub. Locals say Sunday lunch is excellent so that will be our next visit I expect!

Went for Sunday lunch as pub has new owners food was good also good value 2 lunches for £12. Only gripe the toilets really need sprucing up .The new owners very friendly hopefully they will stay longer than all the others

We have taken 6 months to try out the pub under new owners as the last time we went under previous people it was so awful, but what a transformation clean, warm, fantastic food, friendly and welcoming staff what more could you want from your local. Congratulations to Steve and his team and we look forward to coming back soon.

Stayed for one night in October with my wife, daughter and dog. Very spacious room in building directly behind the pub. The pub itself is very nice, good food and ale, but what really made the stay was the welcoming staff. Excellent breakfast topped off an enjoyable visit. There is a lovely local walk by the river Steve told me about so, if with a dog, recommended.
