“A wonderful haven”
Reviewed 27 June 2014

This is a wonderful place to stay, fabulous rooms, beautifully fitted out with friendly attentive and efficient service at breakfast, which is magnificent in itself, with a range of locally sourced produce. The house is set in lovely grounds, very restful on a summers evening. There is a comfortable sitting room too if you get grounded by the weather. There are a couple of decent pubs within walking distance too for an evening drink or meal.

Room Tip: Try the Kandensky room!

We stayed overnight in June
Thoroughly recommend this as a welcoming tranquil spot
Privately owned so it's not full of commercial leaflets etc but rather simply elegant
Luxuriously equipped and scrupulously clean
Very quiet surroundings at the edge of pretty village
Good choice at breakfast at a table opening onto the garden
We plan to go back in May next year to see the tree peonies and massive azaleas in bloom
Very good value
Recommend the Vettriano room

We stayed here for two nights and were made very welcome. We stayed in the Macke room which was beautiful and faultless. I think this might be one of the smaller rooms but was far bigger than most hotel rooms. The bed was the most comfy I have had at any hotel and we slept so well. The ensuite was spotless with beautiful toiletries to use. Breakfast was amazing, sitting with the French doors open and eating delicious food. I especially enjoyed the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs with muffins.
An added bonus was the beautiful gardens which you could relax in and watch the birds.
We felt totally relaxed after our stay and hope we will be able to stay again.
Thank you.

We stayed at this beautiful Country House Hotel for 2 nights with 5 other couples attending a nearby wedding. The whole experience was so relaxing - arriving to be served with a pot of tea and freshly made sponge cake! Lovely spacious rooms, we had a huge modern bathroom and I think all the rooms were of a similar standard and size. Dominic was extremely attentive - even found some marmite to go under my scrambled eggs! Delicious breakast too. We loved it and would highly recommend it - village up the road with a couple of good pubs and fabulous scenery all around. Just off the motorway so very easy to get to and from. Thank you for making us so welcome and comfortable!.

My wife and I have just spent a delightful couple of days at this exceptional B&B. Clearly no effort has been spared by the owners to decorate and furnish the whole house beautifully. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable with every need provided. We were welcomed with a tray of tea and slices of homemade cake. The atmosphere throughout is relaxed and friendly and the breakfast was individually prepared and comprehensive. We will return and thoroughly recommend this Country House.

We spent three incredibly comfortable nights at Woodhayes, and did not want to leave!
On arrival we were warmly greeted by Dominic who gave us a tour of the facilities and a briefing.
The entrance hall is delightful, and the the Guest drawing room is a wonderful place to sit and relax.
Each bedroom has a name rather than a number and we were in the Kandinsky room which is large, airy, and beautifully furnished. The bed is a super King size and boasts a luxurious down duvet and pillows. We slept incredibly well in the very peaceful environment.
Breakfasts are simply amazing. Four different types of fruit juice, cereals, chopped fresh fruits, dried fruit, and a huge bowl of apples oranges, bananas and pears.... and that was before we got to the rest of the menu!
There is a choice of full English, eggs in various guises, field mushrooms, smoked salmon, vine tomatoes, toast - the list goes on, and it was all beautifully prepared and presented.
We totally agree with everything other people have said about Woodhayes. A tremendous amount of thought and money has gone into making this the best B & B we have ever had the pleasure to visit, and we've been to quite a few in all corners of the globe.
The website and the brochure are totally accurate. There has been no skimping in renovating the house and everything about the place shouts "quality", and it is spotlessly clean throughout.
A truly wonderful place to stay.

Quite simply this is a wonderful place to stay. My wife and I recently had a very enjoyable long weekend staying here. Clearly a lot of money has been invested in this magnificent property, and no corners have been cut.

The service was excellent, friendly and efficient. The breakfast was very good and very nicely made. The attention to detail that is lacking in so many B&Bs was perfect and I really cannot fault it. Many B&B owners are just looking to exploit their properties to make a quick buck and cut costs whereever possible, this is absolutely not the case here - everything was perfect - Highly recommended.
