We chose Surf View as it said it was a family friendly B & B. We took with us our seven and a half month baby and were a litttle worried about what it might be like as we had not been away before. We were very happy when we arrived and met Steve and Shirley and were welcomed into their lovely home. Our room was fabulous and there was a seperate little area that we were able to put the travel cot for our baby and a little screen to keep her area dark and quiet. Steve also very kindly went and bought a microwave so that we were able to warm her bottles and food in our room too! Had a lovely short break away and would reccommend this place for families, surfers, couples and anyone really!

We needed a B&B within a reasonable walking distance of Woolacombe bay and happened across Surf View, and very glad we were too. Access to the B&B was easy with lots of parking close by. The welcome from Steve and Shirley was warm and friendly - and the room itself was perfect. Well appointment, clean and tidy with everything we needed and with a really nice style to the layout. We loved it as soon as we walked in. Towels and linen were clean and well kept.

Woolacombe is a short walk - maybe 5-10mins down a public path, but for those who might like a bit of creature comfort, it is just a cheap 5min cab ride each way (and trust me, the local cabby - a chap called Phil, is both punctual and very reasonable).

Breakfast was a treat. Generous, and beautifully cooked and served. Shirley does some great eggs, and I recommend you try them.

This is a really top notch B&B. My wife and I have stayed in B&B's all over England, but this is definately one of the best we've seen.

Enjoy. We did.

This place was recommended to us but before we booked we checked here to read the reviews. We couldnt believe that out of all the reviews everybody said how good it was, there wasnt one bad comment. So decided to book.
I emailed Steve before I booked as I had never stayed in a guesthouse before and wasnt sure if we would come back in the day if our baby needed a nap. This was not a problem and Steve emailed back promptly.
We were greeted by Steve on arrival with a smile and throughout our stay him and Shirley were so friendly and helpful. They really couldnt do enough for us. We took our baby swimming and Shirley even offered to tumble try our towels. You dont get service like this is a 5 star hotel!!!!
We had a new or recently refurbished room which was spacious (even with a travel cot) and comfortable and the shower was HUGE with lovely hot water. There was a patio area just outside which we could have used if the weather was better.
Breakfast is served in a conservatory which overlooks the sea and lovely green countryside. When we arrived the first morning Steve had already set up a table with a highchair. I was a little worried as Kitty can be quite vocal at breakfast but Steve and Shirley made such a fuss of her it was really lovely. Breakfast was great, Shirley is such a good cook that we looked forward to it every morning. Steve showed us that he has started to get a collection of egg cups to suit his guests for example if you are a surfer dude he has a camper van cup etc. Just wanted to use this as an example of how thoughtful this couple really are and how much they want to please you.
I must also really point out that everywhere is spotlessly clean, it looks like a showhome. Everywhere looked newly painted and fresh and even the garden and car park looked well cared for.
Steve and Shirley are such genuine couple they obviously love doing what they do and are very good at it to. We had a lovely stay and would highly recommend you book. We just hope it doesnt get too busy that they cant fit us in next time!!!

Steve greeted us with a very warm welcome at 9pm on a Friday night, showed us to spotless & comfortable rooms then dropped us into town so we could get a much needed drink! Breakfast was fantastic & set us up for a day surfing, the storage room for wet suits was ideal. A lovely hot shower was next and a fantastic nights sleep. We will be back next year and would def recommend this gem of a guest house - I dare you to find fault with it.......

My partner and I and our 10 month old son stayed here for one night - the location is excellant, only a 10 minute walk to the beach (with a pushchair).
Our room was big enough for our travel cot and still didn't feel cramped. The en-suite was very clean and looked new.
We were greeted by Steve with a friendly smile when we arrived and he showed us around the B&B and gave advice on travelling to the beach on foot.
The breakfast was fantastic - we both had the full english - you place your order the night before - and as well as cooked breakfast you can have fruit, yoghurt, ceareals etc.
They heated our baby's porridge for us in the morning - they made sure we were very well catered for.
As we had a baby - it was good that the room had a nice TV and a bottle opener and real wine glasses - so was perfect for an early night in.
Lovely view of the sea from our room (room number one).
Would recommend to everyone and if we are in the area again for holiday again we would return.
