Having stayed before on Sunnyside Road we knew the location was great for Woolacombe and the elevated bay/sea views are lovely. The B&B we had stayed in previously had since shut down so I tracked down The Haven which was opposite.

We arrived into Woolacombe for the early May bank holiday weekend at around 10am and rang ahead to see if we could park at the B&B but were pleasantly surprised to find we could get into our room straight away. Ted warmly greeted us and showed us to the room on the ground floor. Although the decor is dated the room size was fantastic and had been set up for us as a family of three. A large room with a double and single, a room off this for sitting/dining with a TV and patio doors opening onto a private patio area with sea views and a family bathroom with large bath/over shower.

We were offered the option of breakfast in our room which was a nice touch but we opted for joining the other guests in the dining room. Parking on the drive outside the patio area was also offered which we took as we had lots of beach toys/coats we kept in the car.

Overall a great stay; the room worked really well for a family, the hosts were very friendly and accommodating and the beds comfortable. Breakfast was nice, the only slight negatives were unsmoked bacon and mushrooms on second day instead of beans - which disappointed my husband! Ted and Rita made us feel very welcome and when asked what her favourite part of the weekend was my daughter said meeting Ted!!

We would stay again.

We had pencilled in this weekend to go camping in Mortehoe but the weather was dreadful. Decided to head up to Woolacombe and find a B&B. Went into the tourist info centre and were given details of the Haven. We headed up to view the only available room. Spotless accomodation, great location with sea views. We met with the owners Ted and Rita and decided to book in for a couple of nights. Really enjoyed our stay, 2 min walk into the centre of Woolacombe, close to coastal and hill walks too. Breakfast prompt at 8.30am, hearty enough and they are sooooo friendly and hospitable. Good value and highly recommended.

We visit Woolacombe 3 times a year for the surf and didn't pre-book anywhere to stay on this occasion. A trip to the Tourist Information and 10 minutes later we secured a room at The Haven B&B. The location is the best we've experienced to date and we had a choice of two rooms - both had sea/beach views. The room was spotlessly clean and the bed was very comfortable. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating, providing us with the option of the garage to hang out our wetsuits and store the boards. The cooked breakfast was lovely. I left my favourite beach shoes there and when I phoned about 10 days later, the owners had kindly stored them away for me and said they'd happily store them for me. We'll definitely be calling The Haven as our 1st choice when we return in September.

We arrived late in to woolacombe and went straight to the Tourist information (not very friendly to those who only stay 1 night with not much money) but anyway the tourist info lady was kind enough to suggest The Haven for us and gave us a booklet so we could ring them.
Straight away we were made welcome and shown to our room which was large and spotlessly clean, the views were amazing over the beach and you could hear the sea!!
everything was perfect from the well stocked tea & coffee tray to the big fluffy towels.
The Haven is only 3 minutes walk from the beach/pubs restuarants but as its up a hill its not noisy, i will say though if you have trouble walking the hill is very steep!
the breakfast the next day was suberb! thick bacon tasty sausage!
we will definatly be back!
