Felt very welcome in this clean and restful B&B. Our well-behaved young dog was fussed over and given treats, and we definitely appreciated the calm and flexible attitude of the proprietors.

Breakfast was a very traditional Full English and I was provided with an alternative to baked beans, which I really appreciated.

Overall: friendly, no-frills, lovely hosts. Only downside is the short but steep walk back from the beach.

Room Tip: They do have a family-type room with garden access. If you want it, just ask!

A big thank you to Rita & Ted for making us so welcome. We travelled to Woolacombe to attend a funeral & they went above & beyond to make a not very pleasant time so much easier for us. They are perfect hosts & so friendly it's like visiting family. Our room was bright & comfortable & the view from our window that overlooked the bay was lovely. The tea tray was well stocked & the towels fluffy. The whole guest house is spotless & Rita's cooked breakfast did just what she said 'set us up for the day ahead' & Ted's waiting talents must not be left out & if you don't fancy a full english then Rita will accommodate requests (I'd like one of her at home!). The Haven is a stones throw away from the hub of the beach life but as it's up a lane it's so peaceful & quiet you couldn't help but feel relaxed, we wished we could have stayed longer but would not hesitate to go back or to recommend The Haven to anyone wanting a relaxing break.
Trudy & Dave from Hampshire.

Thankyou to Ted and Rita for a lovely break at The Haven.
A fabulous cooked breakfast, comfortable and cosy beds and a warm welcome.
This B & B is overlooking gorgeous Woolacombe Bay and has lovely views over the sea and national trust land. Within minutes walk of Woolacombe village with lots of shops and amenities.
We can recommend this 100% and will definitely return.

The Haven is well presented although a little dated .... our room was clean, fresh and bright. The only downside is that we were not asked how we liked our breakfasts i.e. with our full English breakfast we wanted poached eggs but were not asked about our choice and so very underdone fried eggs were served to us and we had to ask for them to be done a little more ...... didn't have the heart to ask for poached although on saying that we heard a lady on the next table say she wanted poached eggs and was met with an answer of "well your eggs are now being fried" .... not very good customer relations Ted !! The poor lady just accepted it as we did. Also Ted got the order wrong again withour drinks ... ordered coffee and promptly got tea !! A lot of mistakes made.

Room Tip: Make sure you get your breakfast order in writing.

Having stayed before on Sunnyside Road we knew the location was great for Woolacombe and the elevated bay/sea views are lovely. The B&B we had stayed in previously had since shut down so I tracked down The Haven which was opposite.

We arrived into Woolacombe for the early May bank holiday weekend at around 10am and rang ahead to see if we could park at the B&B but were pleasantly surprised to find we could get into our room straight away. Ted warmly greeted us and showed us to the room on the ground floor. Although the decor is dated the room size was fantastic and had been set up for us as a family of three. A large room with a double and single, a room off this for sitting/dining with a TV and patio doors opening onto a private patio area with sea views and a family bathroom with large bath/over shower.

We were offered the option of breakfast in our room which was a nice touch but we opted for joining the other guests in the dining room. Parking on the drive outside the patio area was also offered which we took as we had lots of beach toys/coats we kept in the car.

Overall a great stay; the room worked really well for a family, the hosts were very friendly and accommodating and the beds comfortable. Breakfast was nice, the only slight negatives were unsmoked bacon and mushrooms on second day instead of beans - which disappointed my husband! Ted and Rita made us feel very welcome and when asked what her favourite part of the weekend was my daughter said meeting Ted!!

We would stay again.
