Visited there 6.30pm on a Sunday when the carvery was in full swing' had to wait a few minutes for a table, staff very friendly. We ordered off the main menu, poached chicken in a cream sauce, I had a mixed grill. The food was cocked excellently described by my wife as perhaps the best poached chicken she had had, the mixed grill was also cooked to perfection all the meats tender and hot. The drinks were reasonably priced and the beer was well kept.
The decor lets it down slightly which I understand is difficult in and old Victorian building, the tables and chairs are a little tired but it didn't detract from and enjoyable first visit whilst in the area on holiday, we will be visiting again during our stayMore
