My girlfriend and I stayed for 3 nights in gold spec lodge and we were pleasantly surprised, high standard of furnishings and nice overall feel of the place, some larger holiday parks could learn a thing or two. The staff were very attentive and friendly too. Night time entertainment was fun if not a bit wacky but, unless you like water sports, your pretty much screwed for day time entertainment as woolacombe is devoid of alot of shops so finding things to do of the weather is lousy is quite difficult and the nearest proper supermarket with reasonable priced food is 12 miles away. Probably won't go again as it didn't quite fit our bill.......

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. I am very pleased that you found our Gold Lodges exceeded your expectations, and you found them to be finished to a high standard. It’s also great to read that you found our team to be friendly and attentive; they will be very happy to read your kind words. I am sorry to read that you found it quite difficult to fill your days around our local area. We are situated next to one of the best beaches in the UK, and also many attractions including theme parks and zoo’s, however we completely appreciate that everyone enjoys different things and we wish you happy holidays in the future. First time trip to this holiday village- upgraded on a sun holiday to a gold villa. Had the little pool practically to ourselves which my teenage boys loved. Accommodation very clean, beautiful shower room and nice furnishings. Old Mill pub on site food was wonderful and reasonably priced (great carvery twice a week). Liked the fact that entertainment and pools all included in price plus you can use all 4 parks facilities (inc an hour spa @ woolacombe park). free bus to
parks and beach which is blue flag and beautiful! Already booked for next year as half price if booked on site but going to stay at Twitchen House so we can take the dog too! Highly recommended- can't wait to go again !

Thank you very much for your wonderful review. I am so pleased you enjoyed your stay with us. Our Gold Lodges are situated next to a lovely outdoor heated swimming pool, and I am very happy to read your family took full advantage of this great pool. It’s wonderful that your lodge was very clean, and you appreciated the new refurbishment. Thank you for your kind comments on The Old Mill pub, and we cannot wait to welcome you back to Twitchen House. Aidan Glover - General Manager

Arriving at the park last friday we were allocated a chalet in the pines. We were with a 7 and a 3 year old. The chalet was dank and musty with ony one bedroom. The response back at reception was they could sleep on the pull out sofa. On asking about caravan availability we were told there wasnt any. However we were offered a "upgrade" chalet for 50 pounds. We went for a look still dank and musty and no tv or fridge on a self catering holiday! I decided to try and find a hotel in the area as by this time thechildren were upset. Luckily as it turned out i couldnt get internet connection so went into reception to ask for tourist info phone numbers. When the lady asked why and i said we couldnt stay in such accommodation all of a sudden a caravan was found for an extra 25 pounds. How come no caravans were available earlier. On the plus side the caravan was fine and we enjoyed the rest of the holiday. The facilities for the kids were fine and it was only a short car drive to the beach. Overall though we wont return unless we could guarentee a van as the chalets definately need a lot of tlc. Funny how when you drive onto the site you see lovely looking accommodation!

Room Tip: Get a caravan in cleavewood!

We have a variety of different styles and grades of accommodation that aim to suit all budgets and requirements. It is possible for people to upgrade on arrival if they find their accommodation does not meet their preferences or requirements. Some people prefer our brick built accommodation, and as such, may have upgraded on arrival freeing up a caravan on your return visit to Reception. I am very pleased to read that your caravan met your expectations after upgrading, and I will ensure our Accommodation Manager investigates your claims of your accommodation on arrival. Just for future, the accommodation you see as you come down the drive way are our Gold and Silver lodges. Aidan Glover - General Manager

Returned home 5 days ago after staying mon-fri @ Golden Coast Holiday Village. Our sons being 19&16 years old,we had spent many lovely holidays in this group of parks when they were alot younger-either camping in tent,or staying in caravan/apartment/lodge. We had got to the point where we felt there wasn't alot for the teenagers, and started holidaying elsewhere. Since having a daughter who is now 2 years old (slight age gap!),we decided to try these parks again. What a difference-not only did our daughter have a lovely time, there are so many activities for teens & adults-water walkers, bungee trampolene, climbing wall, wave rider etc. Never ended up staying at the club past 9pm due to our daughter, but because the indoor pool was open til late my husband & I would be in the club for the kids time & bingo,& our sons would make use of the pool next door. Not great choice of food from takeaway in club, but impressed,as we always used to be,by the meals in the "Old Mill Pub"on site-good choice & large portions. Well worth getting the bus ticket for your stay if you plan on heading down to the beach/shops,because car parking on front is expensive. Amazing beach, had 2 good days on beach. Very impressed, now have large lifeguard presence, which makes you feel very safe. Lovely staying in a silver lodge(Lakeside?more of a pond!)which had loads of ducks which love to be fed! My only real criticism would be please update your sofa beds-I have never been on anything so creaky & lumpy! All in all,a fab holiday-will be going back in october half term which we booked pretty much as soon as we got home because we were missing it!

Room Tip: Always try,if you can,to book silver or above accomadation-bronze is very basic. If travelling through "Sun Holidays" or similar, you can usually upgrade.
