“A Good Independant Hotel”

Booked in for a couple of nights while attending a reunion - arrived on the bus from Weymouth and was warmly greeted at reception. Room was cosy and decor in good repair - the bed was positioned eccentrically, but this just added to the ambiance. Breakfast served in a traditional style breakfast room with good tasty local produce. Not cheap, but you get what you pay for.

Having had a very hectic few weeks i decided to look for somewhere not to far from home to go to recharge our batteries
what a stroke of luck to find this fab hotel..on the edge of town close to all the shops and amenities.
we arrived in the afternoon to be met by a very welcoming member of staff...and shown to our room which was lovely. we were provided with a lovely cafetiere and cream and shown the other parts of the hotel. the housekeeper was very helpful.
Though it rained and was all in all a bit wet and windy the warm and friendly atmosphere from
breakfast.... to the evenings spent in cellar bar making music and new friends made it one of those very special places. we will return without a doubt.and.. would recommend....

Stayed one night while visiting family for a birthday party. Room was cosy and clean, fluffy towels nice hospitality tray and bottled water, toiletries in bathroom. feather pillows what more could you want. The breakfast was excellent and staff friendly and efficient wouldn't hesitate to recommend. Had room 4 at the front so could hear traffic but this didn't really bother us. Little bit pricey but for one night OK

Booked this for a one-night stay to attend the famous Bridport Literary Festival. It was a refreshing change to stay at a hotel which was not a succession of bedroom doors off a long corridor. .The welcome was outstanding.. Having arrived early after a 1.5 hours bus journey, we were provided with a large cafetiere and biscuits without charge whist they finished preparing the second of the two single rooms we had booked. . The rooms were will provided, clean and cosily nestled into different parts of the building which has only 10 rooms in total. There is some road noise as the A35 is not too far away but it is minor and the comfortable beds gave a good night's sleep. The hotel does not provide meals other than snacks apart from the breakfast which was excellent and cooked to order. However there are several good eating places in the town and in nearby West Bay. We would definitely use Bridge House again

Simple, well situated B&B in Bridport. It's old and have a Fawlty Towers feel to it, but without any Basil or Emanuel characters as far as I saw. Breakfast is ok, and the service for breakfast was both friendly and efficient. Check in and out was quick and easy. All in all this was ok, albeit a bit pricy compared to what we're used to in western Europe.

Room Tip: try to get a room not facing the main road, it's noisy if you keep windows open

Picked this place totally at random, and it couldn't have been better. Lovely room, nice and warm (which is not all that common in a lot of English places, sorry, coming from a soft American). Said they were dog friendly, and boy were they ever. The dog had as good a time as we did. Had kippers for breakfast, and they were the biggest and most delicious, smoked down the street, we were told. And if you're a Broadchurch fan, as I am, this is the place to go to see the sites. Were told that the crew stayed here during filming. Everything was terrific!

Visited Bridport and was looking for somewhere to eat and saw they had a wine bar - reminded us of the 80's but having said that a good wine list, good food and altogether not bad value. My husband enjoyed the local beer and I tried a local wine which was excellent. The service most efficient and friendly but food a bit slow arriving. Would go back though as it was a relaxed atmosphere unlike The Bull in the High St which is a always too noisy and rather uncomfortable
