“A wonderful and special place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 June 2014

Absolutely fantastic! Without question, the best B and B we have ever stayed at! Would highly recommend! We loved it!

We were in desperate need of a break and we chose n.27 Bridport because of the reviews we'd read, but we couldn't quite believe it would be as special as the reviews had claimed. In fact, it surpassed our expectations.

First of all, the property itself has been beautifully and lovingly restored, the rooms are tastefully decorated and there is a wonderful peaceful atmosphere in the house.

We stayed in the Shaker room at the top of the house, which is light and airy and wonderfully romantic. We would thoroughly recommend it (although all three rooms are lovely). We slept very soundly in the gorgeous comfy King size bed. The huge bathroom (with king size bath and amazing shower) is also really special and luxurious and left us feeling really pampered, also great for a soothing hot bath at the end of a long coastal walk.

Breakfasts were absolutely delicious - actually the best we've ever had and all cooked to perfection with fresh top quality ingredients. On one sunny morning, at the suggestion of our host, we had our tea and toast outside in the beautiful garden.

Above all though, what makes N.27 really stand out is definitely the owner Juliet. From the moment we arrived, she was genuinely warm and welcoming, yet never intrusive. She went out of her way to make sure we had a wonderful holiday, with great attention to detail, providing lots of useful information and advice, and even offering to give us a lift on one occasion so we could get a head start for a glorious coastal walk.

Her warmth and enthusiasm are infectious. It's obvious that she loves her home and that sharing it with guests is a pleasure. It's clear that she's not putting on a fake smile for you (as one can often feel in B and B's and hotels) and therefore because she is so comfortable and relaxed, you end up feeling totally relaxed yourself, and very much at home. We can't wait for another visit!

We fell in love with Bridport and Dorset, and I am sure it was because of our lovely peaceful stay with a friendly and interesting hostess! Juliet was really helpful on where to go and what to see in the area, and we were greeted by tea and maps. The garden is absolutely charming and really quiet and it was lovely having our breakfasts in the sunshine out there. Juliet's poached eggs were delicious, and they were so fresh too-straight from the chickens in the back garden.
This is a spacious charming house near to everything you want and the countryside too. If you are looking for a peaceful beautiful place to stay, look no further than this place! I will definitely be going back later in the summer and I know who to stay with too!:)
ps. the bedding is to die for!

Room Tip: We stayed in the green room overlooking the garden...it was perfect for us and the bed was very comf...

We stayed a couple of weeks ago as we were going to a wedding in town. The house is so well located for the town centre - just a couple of minutes walk to the end of the very quiet street. The room is just lovely - 2 huge windows making it light and bright and we were lucky enough to have sunshine streaming in each morning. The bathroom is perfect with a great shower - but the star of the room is an exceptionally comfortable bed and bed linen! Juliet is the best host - friendly and welcoming with advise about the local area. Breakfast is served in the airey kitchen with Juliet cooking and chatting and being way too modest about her homemade marmalade - which is a must. I will certainly be returning to take a look around the garden and visit the newly aquired chickens - hopefully that will be soon.

We were very fortunate to stay at Juliet's delightful home a few weeks ago and loved every moment. The location is terrific, on a quiet road a couple of minutes walk from the town centre.
The spacious and stylishly decorated Japanese room, with its ensuite (new, double sized shower) and comfortable sofa area was a perfect haven for enjoying a cup of tea (fresh milk provided) whilst planning our outings.
Breakfasts in the bright glass-roofed breakfast room were freshly prepared, interesting and delicious (Juliet even provided some locally baked gluten free bread for my husband) and a glass of wine or cup of tea was on offer on our return from a day's walking.
Juliet is a mine of information and certainly went the extra mile to help us plan our forthcoming visit to the area with a large group.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Japanese room, facing the lovely morning sunshine, on the first floor.

We have just returned from 2 nights in Dorset staying at the No.27 B&B in Bridport and had a lovely time.

We were greeted by Juliet when we arrived on Saturday who instantly made us feel at home by presenting us with a lovely pot of loose tea and a slice of gorgeous cake! Juliet was the perfect hostess looking after our every need. It was so nice to spend the time chatting to her as she was able to give us tips on where to go, recommend walking routes, places to eat and drink in and around Bridport.

The house is gorgeous and well decorated to a high standard. There is a beautiful garden too but unfortunately for us the weather was very wet so we didn't get the opportunity to venture out there. The house is perfectly located 2 mins walk from the high street where there are lots of bars pubs and restaurants.

We stayed in the shaker room (thoroughly recommended) which is located right at the top of the house and is perfectly quiet and private. The room was very spacious with a king bed and very good quality bedding, the view from the room was stunning looking over Bridport! We had our own bathroom just across from the room it had a large rain shower and a big bath!

Breakfast was great we had granola with yogurt and fruit followed by scrambled egg with smoked salmon and then toast and jam both mornings but we could have had a full breakfast if we wanted however we wanted something a bit lighter.

There is a pub just down the road from the B&B the Tiger Inn we went there a few times and the bar staff made us feel very welcome. We went to The Bull for a few drinks and then ate at The Stable just behind the main bar and restaurant they serve pizzas and pies very yummy and very reasonable. We also ate at the Indian 'Taj Mahal' the service was good and it was busy so we thought that was a good sign. Food was a reasonable price too!

Overall we had a brilliant time the house was really lovely and Juliet's hosting was relaxed and very personal! We now feel relax and rested from our break in the West. Thanks Juliet!

Room Tip: We recommend that you stay in the Shaker room you won't be disappointed by the views and it'...

We have just spent 6 nights at Juliet’s truly charming B&B, No. 27, in Bridport. Juliet made us feel at home straight away with tea together, amongst the flowers (and bees and butterflies) in her quiet back garden. Then we were shown to our beautiful room – the spacious and airy Shaker Room in the eves, with our own large luxurious bathroom immediately opposite. The fittings are to a high standard, with a huge bath and open rain shower. Everything is spotlessly clean and in excellent decorative order. There is a big, comfortable bed and a fridge and kettle. I particularly enjoyed the picturesque view to the west, over the rooftops, as I took my tea each morning!
Juliet has tastefully renovated her home to make it both comfortable and welcoming to guests, including the light-filled kitchen, which opens out onto her garden. We enjoyed chatting to a number of other couples round her kitchen table over breakfast – and what delicious breakfasts they were too! The locally sourced bacon was superb (whether included in the “full English” or with freshly made pancakes and maple syrup) – as were the free-range eggs, the kippers, the homemade plum compote and marmalade… etc.! Every breakfast was a treat.
I also had a peek into the Japanese Room below ours one morning when it was vacant. It too has been refurbished to the highest standard and is decorated with stunning Japanese prints. There’s a large comfortable-looking bed and a seating area complete with sofa. The quaint bathroom includes a superb double-sized shower.
No. 27 is a stone’s throw from Bridport’s main street, so everything is close at hand, including the wonderful Olive Tree restaurant, where they definitely take food seriously. There is an excellent choice of local restaurants, cafés and bars, including the Venner Bar for serious cocktails, located in the Bull Hotel where we also enjoyed an excellent meal.
Juliet was the perfect hostess, ready with local information and suggestions when needed. Refreshingly, rooms do not contain TV or radio, but guests are provided with free Wi-Fi.
We very much look forward to staying with Juliet again – hopefully sooner rather than later!

Juliet has a lovely home in which she made us most welcome during our 3 nights in Bridport. The rooms are very comfortable and with a great choice of breakfast we were set up for the daily walks along the coast. We will certainly recommend to all our friends.
