“Everything a market should be”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 May 2013

My Wife & I have been here a few times now. All that a traditional street market should be. Antiques & Bric a brac, food clothing & just about everything else you could think of. usually with a street entertainer or two thrown in. Plenty of good pubs along the route should you feel thirsty or hungry. Definitely worth a visit should you be in the area on a Saturday.

“Good old street full of ld type stalls !!!!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 May 2013 via mobile

We as a family have been visiting Bridport over the last 30years and am amazed that this market is still going strong. yes lots of visitors both local, and farther away come to visit. Many time you can find a bargain or might have to haggle a little , lots of T.V. Programmes have been filmed in this area including in West Bay village a short distance away so attracts lot and lots of visitors.. Plus the jurassic coast line along this famous coast .
Locals are friendly I should know my relatives live in the area, so sorry cannot give any extra details on Hotels or , B B 's , or even camp sites, they all abound in the are so plenty to make a choice from. just enjoy the Town and local area as we have done over many years, yes it does get busy on a good warm hot sunny day or in the school holidays ,.

“enjoyable street market”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 May 2013

Spread over several hundred yards of East, west, and South street... this market makes a good day out (Saturday market 18 May 13) . Huge variety of produce... you name it, you can buy it here... new or second hand. Also the local shops offer a good selection of clothes, books, hardware, etc We had coffee sitting outside behind a small gallery, and later at lunch time a tasty lamb curry at a stall which also had seating adjacent. Purchases included some hardy plants. Public toilets. Lots of cafes/pubs/hotels.

“Typical country market.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 December 2012

This market is held on Saturdays and Wednesdays. Saturday is far bigger. A large country market that goes well back into the mist of time. Something for everyone, old and new and you never know what you may find. On Saturdays in the Square there is nearly always music from the local brass band to solo instrumentalists playing and plenty of seating in the area as well. Close by is the antique quarter, where you can while away several hours. Bridport is served by local buses being the X53, the No. 31 and also from Yeovil.

“Great Flea Market”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 September 2012

The flea market is really interesting if you like shopping for unusual objects an collectables. Pubs are expensive if you want to eat or rink. The Hat festival is very interesting and entertaining with morris men ancing in the street and live music. A good day out .
