“I love this hotel”
Reviewed 14 April 2014

We came across this hotel on a walk from West Bay where we were spending the day. Very tired and hungry we stopped and had lunch. The food was excellent. On leaving we picked up a hotel brochure and a few months later we stayed for a long weekend. We love to walk and this hotel is ideally situated for walks along the coastal paths. A certain degree of fitness is required as the walking can be strenuous. There are lots of places to visit by car and yes the road is narrow but no noisy cars whizzing by. The bedrooms are comfortable and we had the most amazing view out of our bedroom window overlooking the National Trust Downland. The evening meals where cooked to order no reheated food here. This is our second stay here and I know it won't be our last. If you want a family run hotel who put all your needs first then you won't be disappointed. A 3 star hotel with a 5 star customer service.

Room Tip: The best rooms are the superior rooms. In fact, we stayed in the standard room. Room 12 which overlo...

We had looked at this hotel to stay in, but having visited it we are glad that we didn't. Long, very winding, single track road to the hotel made it difficult to get to. (We live in Somerset so we are used to backing when we meet another vehicle.) No sea views to speak of (may be better upstairs in the bedrooms.)

I have added pictures taken from the bedrooms and from the lounge showing the beautiful sea views. The lane is all part of the rural location, it is the reason Eype is so peaceful and relaxing, a perfect spot to get away from it all, ideal for walking the South West Coastal path and a 5 minute stroll to the beach .......

A business trip to a local winery combined with a birthday overnight stay. Clean room, very good food. We try hard in our own business to go the extra mile to make visitors and guests feel welcome and individual and it is very nice to find a small hotel with the same outlook. We don't often come away from overnight stays (of which there have been many), chatting in the car on the way home about the friendly feeling we both had, but we did here and it's well worth the time to leave a review. Go and stay with them, it's leaves you with a smile.

Excellent location five mins walk to the beach, lovely sea and countryside views from the Hotel.
We had dinner in the Hotel on one night but as there is an abundance of places to eat nearby we chose to eat out on our other night.

Room Tip: Choose a seaview room.

I have just returned from a 2-night break with 2 other couples, at this family-run hotel and it was such a lovely experience. The hotel is about 5 mins from the sea, but some rooms do have a sea view, or look over rolling countryside. We had 2 nights DB&B - the food was excellent. Breakfast was very nice too and very relaxing - gazing over the sea. Very attentive staff and a lovely setting for dining. The rooms have been tastefully decorated and each has their own individual style. I think there are only 18 rooms-all a little quirky , so none of the corporate feel larger hotels have. My husband thought the 4 poster- bed needed to be a little longer, but the bed was otherwise very comfotable for me. This is Broadchurch country ( if you were a fan of the TV series), so there are some spectacular views and interesting places nearby. Bridport Market on Wednesday is well worth a visit. A nervous driver would not like the drive on the country roads, but don't let that put you off. I think the bars and restaurant would be very busy in the Summer- quite rightly so! But I would also recommend this out of season- it is such a pretty and peaceful place.

Room Tip: We were in corner front room with 4 poster and sea view. Quite spacious and elegantly decorated.

Delightful stay, friendly and accommodating, beautfil surroundings and terrific food.
Even had proper beer in the bar on tap.
Ideal spot to go and relax, sightsee and leave the cares of the world behind.
Family run and that adds to the relaxing atmosphere.
We'll certainly be back.
