Stayed for one night as a last-minute break and wish we could have stayed longer. Very friendly and helpful welcome and the polite and attentive manner of all the staff continued throughout our stay. Excellent evening meal and breakfast and a lovely night's sleep in the most peaceful of locations. Great walking from the hotel. The effort and hard work of the owners and all the staff really shows and we're very much hoping to return for a longer stay.

Stayed here for 2 nights for our anniversary, we stayed in a four poster bed room with costal views worth every penny extra. The staff were genuinely friendly and helpful, we stayed dinner, bed & breakfast, the food was excellent, with good choices and lovely views from where we sat. our room was number 9 and we sat on the same table for dinner and breakfast that went with our room, we thought this was a good idea, plus our table had great views. My husband loves his full english breakfast and he was not disappointed he said that 'all Hotels could learn how to do a good english breakfast from this Hotel'. lovely setting while having a drink from the bar. Countryside and costal walks all nearby, with beautiful scenery. We dont usually stay anywhere twice as we like going to different places but this Hotel and staff is a precious find just like the fossils, so we will plan to stay here again soon. 3 stars it may be, but 5 stars it was.

Room Tip: choose number 9

A friendly welcome with very good, comfortable facilities and outstanding breakfasts. Countryside and coastal location with easy access to coastal walking routes and fossil hunting opportunities. Staff are very friendly and helpful offering really good and reasonably priced bar food. good off road parking available. A wonderful and relaxing break which we will repeat very soon.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view; a truly wonderful view to wake up to.

My partner and I have just come back from 4 days in Charmouth for Easter. We stayed at this hotel and at first we had an issue with the bed as it was way too soft for me. We spoke to the owner and were immediately put in another room that was well worth the stay. The breakfasts were extremely filling and just what is needed for a day fossil hunting. We ate every night at the hotel in the bar , which is very handy as there's not much to do after 8pm, and was very happy with the standard of food served. I would happily recommend the cod and chips, grilled cod loin with new potatoes and a very scrumptious Dorset Apple cake. The staff are very friendly and genuine and I have plans to stay here again in the summer.

Room Tip: I think the upgraded rooms are more comfortable

We came across this hotel on a walk from West Bay where we were spending the day. Very tired and hungry we stopped and had lunch. The food was excellent. On leaving we picked up a hotel brochure and a few months later we stayed for a long weekend. We love to walk and this hotel is ideally situated for walks along the coastal paths. A certain degree of fitness is required as the walking can be strenuous. There are lots of places to visit by car and yes the road is narrow but no noisy cars whizzing by. The bedrooms are comfortable and we had the most amazing view out of our bedroom window overlooking the National Trust Downland. The evening meals where cooked to order no reheated food here. This is our second stay here and I know it won't be our last. If you want a family run hotel who put all your needs first then you won't be disappointed. A 3 star hotel with a 5 star customer service.

Room Tip: The best rooms are the superior rooms. In fact, we stayed in the standard room. Room 12 which overlo...

We had looked at this hotel to stay in, but having visited it we are glad that we didn't. Long, very winding, single track road to the hotel made it difficult to get to. (We live in Somerset so we are used to backing when we meet another vehicle.) No sea views to speak of (may be better upstairs in the bedrooms.)

I have added pictures taken from the bedrooms and from the lounge showing the beautiful sea views. The lane is all part of the rural location, it is the reason Eype is so peaceful and relaxing, a perfect spot to get away from it all, ideal for walking the South West Coastal path and a 5 minute stroll to the beach .......
