“A cute boutique hotel”

Wasn't sure what to expect but pleasantly surprised a friendly greeting to all the family. We stayed in a family room which was a two bed suite with plenty of room, decorated beautifully. They welcomed children and provided a lounge off the courtyard with tv Wii and tabletop football which was great the kids loved it. So far so good unfortunately the evening meal let it down the quality average, portions very small and very overpriced which I was surprised about as they seemed to rate themselves very highly, however I will add the breakfast was good. My overall advice would be stay at the hotel but eat out much better restaurants quite close by.

Very nicely appointed small hotel. Place was lovely and clean and very well decorated. Our room overlooked the street but had rock solid double glazing so no street noise. Room cleaned promptly each morning. Shower pressure only ok and temperature control tricky. Bed was very soft and odd noise in the bathroom the whole time we were there. Service in restaurant is patchy but food is really very good and reasonably priced. We would happily go back.

I am not very often moved to complain but I did this time. The Hotel had a wedding the saturday we were there so I believe it was full. We had a very nicley decorated room with a small basic shower room at a reduced rate of £ 100 because we booked late. The room was on the third floor and the water pressure was very poor; the shower stopped twice. Breakfast in the morning was also havoc very busy and out of control ... lots lacking. Our confidence by now was low so we had a continental breakfast and left.

Room Tip: Check how busy they are first. I e-mailed and asked to speak to the Manager about my stay. The Bull...

We only used the restaurant so can't speak about anything else. We went for a late dinner mid-week. Having trawled the main streets we decided on this place. Most of the restaurants were either Indian/Oriental or pubs. It had an interesting menu and for once it wasn't pub grub, with which I don't have a problem but we've done the menu several times over and never had anything above average food. It was a pleasant dining room and atmosphere. Although it was quite busy we were seated straight away by very friendly staff. The menu wasn't huge but plenty of choice and seemed to rely on local meat and fish. It also had specials and it was doing a moules and frittes with a drink included. The fish was a good sized portion of hake and was well cooked. It's the first time I've ever had a beer battered fish whose coating tasted of something other than plain old batter. The mushy peas were fantastic. There were plenty of mussels served with the special. The prices were reasonable. When we asked the waitress for other places to try she gave us several recommendations that proved good. Couldn't really fault it and would happily go again and recommend you give it a try.

Room Tip: Good selection of beer to try

I stayed in the Bull for a couple of nights in the Manger Room - a great ground floor room off the courtyard, complete with beautiful original iron stable manger, extremely comfortable bed and superb shower in really clean, modern bathroom.

The hotel is fab, very friendly staff offering a great welcome. The breakfast of Eggs Florentine was one of the best I've ever had, and a friend who had Eggs Benedict agreed it was outstanding.

Among the many attractions in this hotel is the great art on the walls: a striking cinemascope painting of Claudia Cardinale from Once Upon a Time in the West in reception, and a Tretchikoff in the dining room. The manager took time to talk to me about the artist and the local music scene.

All in all, a fantastic hotel with lovely rooms and an outstanding breakfast!

This hotel is absolutely excellent. The rooms are terrific, the staff are friendly and incredibly helpful and make you feel extremely welcome. The breakfast is top notch, and there's a fine pizza restaurant and a splendid array of ciders on offer, too. Look no further - this is definitely the number one place to stay in Bridport.

Room Tip: There's a wide selection of rooms to suit all tastes.

My husband and I had a fabulous couple of days at the Bull Hotel last weekend. Our room was beautifully decorated and very comfortable, the staff were always polite and efficient and the food in the restaurant was outstanding! Our room overlooked the pretty courtyard where we had a drink earlier in the day. I love this hotel and we will certainly be back next year.
