Stayed for two nights over New Year's Eve 2013/14 (my third stay at The Bull). Everything about this hotel is positive - not least the staff attitude which really makes a difference. Providing free champagne at breakfast on New Year's Day was typical of the hotel's friendly attitude. It also has the most comfortable beds in the world.

This was our second stay at the Bull Hotel and we loved it just as much as the first time. We were upgraded on arrival to stay in the beautiful Old Stable room - large and bright, with a sofa as well as bed. The bed was super comfortable and having Neals Yard toiletries in the bathroom is a nice touch.

The food offered at the Bull is also top notch. The breakfast is possibly the best I've had! Excellent quality bacon and sausage, delicious pastries and really lovely, friendly service. In the evenings we ate in the Stable one night and enjoyed excellent pizza and speciality cider, then the hotel's main restaurant where we had a great three-course dinner. Also worth a mention is Venner's cocktail bar - a lovely place to enjoy a pre-dinner cocktail - I'd particularly recommend the Breakfast Martini!

Overall we loved our stay at the Bull and feel sure we'll be back again before too long. Definitely recommend it as a good place to stay in Dorset - Bridport is a bustling little town, very close to West Bay on the Jurassic Coast.

My husband and I stayed here in November for a one night romantic stay.We were in the Nandi room which has a claw foot bath in the room (and a separate bathroom with shower!). It was very lovely and extremely romantic, everything was clean and it was very quiet. The breakfast was excellent as was the meal we had in the restaurant - we ate tapas style ordering several starters and it was wonderful.

Room tip: The Nandi room is lovely with a fabulous bath in the bedroom!

we went there to stay with our kids back in August
it was terrible experience...
The family room is the worst family room I ever seen...
the room was so dusty & smelly, furniture is just junk...
the bunk bed is the most ugliest, there is no space around or fresh air for the kids...
there is only wall around.
that place is terrible, stay away!!!!!!!!

This was our first visit and we enjoyed it very much. We were given an upgrade on arrival so had a large, L-shaped room with sofa and lounge chair and very comfortable brass bed. The decoration was very tasteful too. There's a very nice cocktail bar in the hotel which we visited one evening before having dinner in the restaurant. The dining room was rather noisy (could do with more soft furnishings to break up the noise) but it was the middle of December so the restaurant was full and perhaps some people were noisier than usual! The food was excellent with a good and varied choice. The staff were very friendly and helpful so we had a lovely break. It's also situated right on the Jurassic Coast - what more could you ask for!
