Freshly cooked mixture of food, including a very tasty and meaty steak and kidney pie followed by a pavlova! Easy place to eat solo, with holiday makers and locals providing atmosphere. They have lots of ciders and wine on tap as well as beer. Excellent complement to B & B living.

Lovely pub in the charming seaside town of Charmouth. Great selection of ale and live entertainment. Friendly barmaids with a good sense of fun but beware they are sharp and can take care of themselves.

Travelling from Cornwall to the New Forest, we wanted a half way stop for lunch. Staff were very friendly on our visit, so perhaps the comments from June have been taken on board. A couple of well filled ham sandwiches, shared bowl of decent chips, pot of tea and a decent pint of Otter ale were enjoyed. A nice chat was also had with the bar staff. The only negative was the tomato ketchup sachets, which were impossible to open despite my fairly sharp teeth, however a quick chat with the barman and a pair of scissors was very quickly provided.

The pub is located on the main street parallel to the A35. It's just 5 minutes walk from the beach and beach front car parks which may be handy as parking appeared to be on street although there may have been parking round the back - we got lucky at the front.

the food was ok, however i noticed that the landlord operated a two tier system that favoured the locals especially with the food, as an ex landlord i found this rather annoying and an insult to the holidaymakers who had to endure long waits for average food.

A group of 12 adults and 2 children booked for a Sunday carvery.
We were not disappointed with the service or the food.
Generous portions of a choice of meats and a good selection of well presented vegetables at very reasonable cost made for a very pleasant meal enjoyed by everyone.
