“Warm and welcoming”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 April 2014

We stayed here for a couple of nights over Easter, and what a joy it was. A really beautiful B&B with an incredible attention to detail. We stayed in Stonebarrow which had ample cupboard and drawer space, a huge bathroom and comfy bed. The tea tray had some nice homemade biscuits and spare glasses. On our arrival Jane bought us a pot of tea and couple of slices of cake. Breakfast was a handsome affair with delicious fresh bread and homemade jams, a choice of cooked items and fresh fruit. All this combined with the relaxed atmosphere make this a really special place to stay.

We stayed there last weekend for 2 nights. We had a lovely time in Dorset. It was great B&B. Our room was very clean, lovely decor and the hospitality was excellent. Jane goes an extra mile to make sure we all are comfortable. Breakfast was excellent in the morning. Really nice and tasty. It was all local produce. Lovely environment. We enjoyed it a lot.

The B&B itself is situated right on the main road. Good local pub close by. If you need anything the big supermarkets are just within 15 min drive from the b &b. It is an ideal place to stay if you are visiting seatown or charmouth.

Only suggestion is - It would be nice if they could get an WiFI internet booster for upstairs. The internet was very patchy in the rooms due to thick walls. But other than that - Excellent B&B!!!!!!!! I'm sure that we will be only staying here in the future. It was so comfortable.

Thank you so much for writing such a great review. Laurie and I are so pleased you enjoyed your stay and would look to come back here one day. If you do come back,we do have boosters for the wifi but you actually have to have it in your room!! It's the price we pay for living in a beautiful valley and having very thick walls in this old 16th century house.
Thanks again and see you again soon, hopefully!!

Warren house is a lovely grade 11 listed thatched sandstone cottage, with a pretty garden.

Three of us occupied the family room at the back of the house which was lovely, spacious and comfortable with a lovely large bathroom, the breakfasts were just delicious everything was spotlessly clean and beautifully served and all sourced locally, our hosts couldn't have been more helpful and kind, I will certainly go there again, I didn't want to leave.

The walking is superb as it's so close to the coastal path.

Room Tip: The only thing I would say is that the rooms at the front do run alongside the A35 which is very bus...

We stayed with Jane & Laurie for 3 nights and would have loved to have extended our mini-holiday. The rooms were immaculate, breakfasts beautifully prepared and the attention to detail superb. The levels of hospitality were spot on- friendly, not intrusive and with genuine interest in their visitors. Our particular thanks to Jane for the impromptu mud-cleaning service! We'd confirm the comment of a previous reviewer as this is better than a 5 star spa hotel that we stayed in last year. A gem.

We have just returned from staying here for 2 nights. It was perfect in every way, our en-suite room was a nice size, lovely decor and very comfortable. The breakfast was delicious and with a great choice. The place itself is in a great position for lovely walks, our favourite was to pretty Seatown. It has 2 good local pubs too. Jane and Laurie are a lovely friendly, helpful couple who made us most welcome. Thanks again and we hope to return. Jean & Brian.

Absolutely loved this place - the building itself is really pretty, and our room was great; really spacious with a huge bathroom. On the first night we decided to try a meal at one of the local pubs, and as we left to make our way there Jane advised us that she had booked us a table just in case - fantastic service.

Breakfast was also delicious, and set us up for the day exploring the local area. The area in general is really beautiful, and Chideock makes a great base for exploring Dorset - everywhere is within easy reach.

The service was faultless - friendly and efficient; when we were stupid enough to leave behind some clothes, Jane ever offered to post them on to us. Undoubtedly deserves a 5* review, and that's before I even mention the lovely cake and coffee that greeted us on arrival. I'm sure that we will be back.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Stonebarrow room. We didn't see any of the others, so can't comment on them...
