“Clean and lovely B&B, great breakfast!”
Reviewed 9 June 2014

Stayed here for one night over the weekend, Andrea was very amenable and left a note for us to let ourselves in to our spacious room - there were 3 of us staying in the family room, and there was plenty of space with lots of cute chairs for us to put our things on, TV, fresh milk (no UHT pot things here!), fridge, tea, shortbread (presume homemade!) and a lovely clean and spacious bathroom. There was also a bottle opener and wine glasses for if you'd brought in a bottle! Just great - and there was even a note from Andrea when we got in in the evening asking when we'd like breakfast. Can't fault it.

Room Tip: Family room - room 4 is great for adults needing to share (1 double, 2 singles).

If your looking for a b&b that has wonderful views, great hosts, scrummy breakfast and comfy spotless rooms go here. We stayed two nights and had a lovely stay, sleeping soundly after hectic days. Also got great advice on where to eat. Thank you

We spent four nights here and would unreservedly recommend it as one of the best B & Bs we have stayed in. The room was comfortable and attractively decorated with plenty of storage space. The bathroom was immaculately clean and bigger than the average en-suite. The room had a fridge containing fresh milk, bottled water and Thornton's chocolates. There were thoughtful touches such as a corkscrew and glasses, and binoculars for the lovely view. It was very hot at night whilst we were there, but a fan had been provided which made a big difference.
The breakfast was awesome. Fresh fruit salad, yoghurts or cereals to start with followed by such an enormous cooked breakfast we couldn't manage it. There were homemade jams with the toast. Everything was of a really high standard and Angela was very friendly and helpful.

We really enjoyed staying here for 2 nights. Angela and Peter's hospitality and advice was great. Lovely breakfast with fresh fruit salad, cooked b using local food and lots of their home made preserves. Nice touches were a (silent) fridge in our room with fresh milk and chocolates! Binoculars to see the wildlife; Bathrobes although we didn't need them as we visited in the hot spell. Wonderful walks in the area and the little train from Corfe to Swanage - we were lucky to discover it was a 'steam' week. I am sure you will enjoy staying here too.

Well, you won't do much better than this for B and B in the UK. We spent two nights here recently with two other couples from university days doing some walking, drinking and eating. The three doubles are on the first floor off a shared landing which was ideal for us and the accommodation is slightly separated with a separate entrance which makes it feel less like part of someone's house. Hotel standards in the immaculate rooms with some nice touches like fresh milk in the fridge rather than those appalling little plastic pots, lovely shortbread biscuits and some chocs and binoculars to add to the enjoyment of the views out to the north. Marvellous breakfast. Amongst the best English breakfast I can recall anywhere. Our hosts, Angela and Peter, were very welcoming and helpful and obviously put their hearts and souls in to this enterprise. Well done to them. We'll definitely be back.

Reviewed 14 April 2013

Stayed here for 2 nights in April and stayed in room 4 as there was three of us.
Didn't get off to the best of starts as no one was in when we arrived so I'd suggest you let them know what time time you plan to arrive.
But it got better after that. The room was lovely and large with a very comfy double bed and two singles. Be a bit careful if you are in the single beds as the roof slopes over them which did result in a coupe of banged heads. There is a little fridge which was stocked with milk and chocolate and there were homemade shortbread to have with your cup of tea. All very nice and very thoughtful. There is a lovely view over the garden and the hills beyond (couldn't see the Castle though). Our hosts made us very welcome with some excellent recommendations for local pubs especially the Scott Arms in Kingston.
The bathroom is nice with a very welcoming looking bath plus a walk in shower. A shelf for your toiletries would be a nice added touch. Lovely hot shower and white fluffy towels.
Breakfast was literally a feast to behold. Cereals, fresh fruit salad, yoghurts 3 types of juice, 5 types of jam some made on the premises the rest home made plus 2 homemade marmalades and that's before the fried breakfast which as of high quality and huge. I promise you lunch will not be needed!!
There are books and magazines to read, DVDs to watch etc in case of inclement weather ( which we had one day) as well as guides to local attractions.
In summary I would recommend Castle View. Just make sure you let hem know what time you are arriving.
I paid £120 a night for room 4.

Room Tip: Room 4 is a great family room.

We stayed at Castle View for three nights at the end of March, during some bitterly cold weather, but the B&B was a snug and warm retreat, and Angela and Peter's hospitality couldn't be bettered. The rooms were warm and well-equipped (the silent fridges, with fresh milk, water and chocolates are an especially nice touch, plus that delicious shortbread!), with wonderfully comfortable beds and fabulous en-suites, the breakfasts were spectacular, and Angela and Peter were very happy to give recommendations for places to eat in the evenings. They are excellent hosts (including being very welcoming to our ten-year-old son, even buying him a particular type of breakfast cereal so he could try it out), and we'll certainly want to stay at Castle View again if we're ever lucky enough to be in the area in the future.

Room Tip: Room 4 is very large and the king-size bed in there is incredibly comfortable. The en-suite is also...
