“Hidden gem”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 May 2014

Don't be put off by the little menu in the pub window. Go in and explore this pub.
A must for CAMRA fans. Excellent beer garden with terrific views of the castle. Very dated in interior. No juke boxes or gaming machines. Makes a refreshing change from gastro pubs like the Grey Hound or Bankes Arms. It has a lot of character. Food and service is good. No pushing of sales. A quiet retreat.......nice change from big busy commerical pubs. GO and have a look.

“Lovely garden - huge steak and cheese baguette”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 May 2014

Arrived at 12. Staff in bar not in huge hurry to. Take lunch orders. Warm diet Pepsi , no ice offered !
Very pretty garden if a bit tired. Why not weed the pots or put them away ! Never found the loos! Steak baguette with cheese huge and with crisps and a salad garnish. Garden has great views of Corfe Castle. Lunch less than a tender. Good value.

“A genuine pub !”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 January 2014

We went for a meal with friends here - amazing, from the moment you walk in !
It is a real pub - no flashiness, no fruit machines, not spoilt by being anything other than a genuine village pub, with just a good honest friendly atmosphere.
The food was excellent, the ale great (and so good to see it comes straight from the barrell, not by pump !) and the pub itself steeped in history and fascinating.
Graham the landlord was very welcoming and a mine of information about the place.
We hope to go back again soon.

“Genuinely unspoilt village pub”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 January 2014

This is our local favourite and we can always rely on a warm welcome and excellent pub food in generous portions at a reasonable price. The Fox has not been spoilt with noisy gaming machines etc and it retains an old world charm. Children are not allowed in the bar but in the warmer months families can enjoy meals in the garden. In the winter there are lovely open fires in both bars and visitors are always intrigued by the deep well (covered by a glass panel).

“Beer tasted like vinegar, but...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 December 2013

I took my family from America to the Fox while on holiday in Corfe. The beer was off and the toilets were horrible, but the "wicker man" style atmosphere gave us lots to talk about for the next week or so.
