“Good food and service in lovely setting”
Reviewed 6 April 2014

We were staying in a cottage in Corfe Castle last month and decided to book dinner for the Saturday evening at Mortons. Out of 3 of us, myself and my son are vegetarians. I must say that the restaurant staff really went the extra mile to offer us a choice of food and had designed our own vegetarian menu. To me this was an excellent start. We chose our options the day before and we were not disappointed. The waiting staff were efficient and very friendly. The food wasn't cheap but with the surroundings, service and food presentation all taken into account, we really enjoyed the evening.

“Getting there”
Reviewed 4 March 2014

Morton House offers a reasonable menu in a good setting but misses the mark in just a few small places - notably the service from some staff did not quite match the setting; not that it was in any way bad or deficient, just not quite there.

The wine list was expansive enough but a little overpriced. The food was good, not exceptional, but I'd visit again if they could offer more variety for vegetarians.

“Real good food and comfort”
Reviewed 17 January 2014

We were a party of four and in the area out of season so many restaurant closed, we had researched Morton's and in general all were positive so we decided to pop in and make a reservation. Reception were very nice but we were not able to get in on the night we wanted as for some reason they could only accept 10 covers and didn't know why?? So we changed our day as it wasn't a problem for us to do that. We arrived on a chilly and wet evening and sat by the log fire to have a drink and choose from the menu, it was cosy and a lovely start to the evening, we then went through exactly at our booking time to the restaurant and were give a lovely table with a view outside by a large window. The meal was absolutely delicious and perfectly executed by a talented chef, this is no pretentiousness place , it is real food imaginative and beautifully presented, this will now be our favourite place to dine in Corfe Castle, mood food, cosy place and professional and very pleasant staff, and excellent value for money, a winner all round!!

“A Christmas Eve Banquet”
Reviewed 30 December 2013

We chose Mortons House for a special Christmas Eve meal It was superb in all ways. We had booked well in advance and the receptionist was so helpful. She e mailed us copies of the set menu - then of the vegetarian option as the main course was venison which I do not like. They then tweaked the veggie main meal for me - and it was terrific! Everyone else enjoyed their venison. It was a horrid night - driving rain and force 10 gales, but the lounge and the restaurant were cosy and welcoming. The staff were all friendly and the hotel was beautifully decorated for Christmas. Brilliant

“Christening Party”
Reviewed 24 December 2013 via mobile

My Daughter and Son in Law held their sons Christening Party at Mortons and both the food and service was first class. My husband and I had dinner and again the service was first class and the food exquisite. The only fault is that there are no baby changing facilities.
