Almost felt like staying with the family!
Sink into chairs in front of log fire, relax before and after dinner. Bliss!
Dogs, although not allowed to stay in hotel, given equally good care and attention as temporary guests with selected local homes via 'Happy Hounds'.
Already booked for next year!

We stayed at Mortons House Hotel from the 14th - 17th January in the Purbeck Suite. The staff were, without exception, helpful, happy, charming and they all seemed to be very contented and happy in their jobs. And the food...... wow! English breakfast or practically anything you fancy would be freshly cooked. Delicious. We dined at the hotel every evening, and the food was amazing. Superbly presented, stylish, with wonderful tastes and flavours. (Do try the banana soufle with Pina Colada ice cream.... wow!) Enjoy a wonderful, spa bath -so relaxing. We had drinks by the log fire and perused the menu - such a brilliant way to start the evening! Everyuthing in the hotel was made for comfort and total enjoyment. The village of Corfe Castle is amazing too - and again, very friendly people. I loved my day as 'Queen of the Castle' as I was there as soon as it opened, cold and windy day, and had the whole place to myself! What a treat! I went on footpath walks, browsed the shops and museum. We drove to Swanage and also to Weymouth , both beautiful places.
I cannot recommend this holiday enough. We have been lucky enough to travel the world, but Mortons House Hotel was up there with the best of them, because of the atmosphere, ambience, and wonderful staff. (And the food......!!!)

Now I could be lazy and just say read all the other reviews as they are so accurate!.
We have passed here many times and at last got to stay there. It was as lovely as we had hoped for and more.It was so lovely, warm, friendly ,clean ,well situated etc etc.We didn't eat there in the evening for no reason other than we fancied a short walk to a pub but the menu looked lovely. The breakfast was great.
We will go back but in the Spring when we can do the great walks over the coastal path without wading through 6" of mud and being blown around !!

We regularly visit Corfe Castle village, and love the location. This year we again did the New Year break at Mortons House Hotel and I can only find praise for the entire time we were there. On check-in we were greeted personally, and the receptionist was cheerful and friendly. Two of the owners were there, both remembered us and had a friendly comment for us. We had booked the Purbeck Suite which overlooks the steam railway station. It was clean and well set out. Very tidy and comfortable furniture, we were easily able to relax in the living room. The bathroom had a spa bath -which made us late for dinner one night, as I was so enjoying my time in the bath! The bedroom was cosy and had plenty of storage space. The bed was very comfortable and we rested well.
The service we had at this hotel was, as we have always experienced, unsurpassed. We really had no problems, nothing seems like too much trouble, and although we were there for New Year, the staff were all professional and friendly - they could have been out elsewhere, but you felt they were happy working at the hotel. I can honestly say that Mortons House Hotel service is some of the best I have had in the world.

The location is fantastic for any age, the village is small, but beautiful with plenty of walks around it. The National Trust own the castle (often referred to as the most romantic ruined castle in England) and this has an amazing backdrop to the village. There is a National Trust shop a fantastic independent jewellers and some other small boutique shops, Clealls of Corfe is a little general store which has just about anything you want or have left behind. Locally there are Swanage or Wareham both small towns with interesting pasts and different things to do, slightly further afield is Poole, Bournemouth and Dorchester.

The best thing about the break was the complete relaxation - there was never anything too much for the staff to do, even allowing us a late check-out so that we could go through the village and pick up a few souvenirs.
I can honestly say that I can't thing of anything that I was disappointed with. Overall, a 5+ star break. Thanks

Stayed three nights over Christmas which was both wonderful and memorable. The Owners and staff are truly professional and very much hands on with an omnipresence. The hotel is unpretentious, very comfortable and full of charm and old english character. The food is outstanding and cannot wait to return.

We have just celebrated my father's 80th birthday at this hotel. We had a private dining room which was beautifully decorated. The food and service was excellent. The staff serving us were there when we needed them but not over the top.

It made the occasion very special and memorable for my father and for the whole family. Highly recommend.

Stayed at the Mortons House over Christmas and found the place all I had hoped for and more. The hotel has been sympathically restored showing the Elizabethan charm and heritage with 21st century comfort. The staff were efficient and helpful. The food was really very good indeed and served well.

Highly recomended.
