We booked two nights at Ammonite after having read the reviews on Tripadvisor and we weren't disappointed. It is located close to the centre of Corfe Castle village and only a short walk to the castle and several good pubs serving meals. Our room was very comfortable and had a variety of teas, coffee and biscuits for us to enjoy. Yvonne is the perfect hostess. She is very friendly and knowledgable about the local area. There was a wide choice for breakfast and it set us up for the day. I would certainly recommend staying there.

We stayed with Yvonne for two nights. She was a great hostess. We asked her by email for recommendations for getting to Lulworth Cove and she booked us a taxi at a reasonable rate. Lovely breakfasts, spacious and well-appointed room with a great view of her garden and the countryside. She had all the extras- a fridge full of milk and water for the guests, tea/biscuits in the room, a walking map and walking sticks to borrow, etc.

We stayed for two nights at Ammonite. We were 2 adults and a nine year old so had a put-up bed with a double bed. Suited us fine, we were very happy with everything. Room & bathroom were spotless, breakfast was great, just what we needed before a day's walking the fantastic countryside around Corfe Castle. B&B is located about a 5 minute walk from the centre of the village. Plenty of dining options, although might be worth booking ahead if you're there during peak season. A lovely touch was the Easter Egg presented to our son on Easter Sunday morning - very thoughtful!

Our room was at the front, but as the 'street' is little more than a country lane, there was little noise. Our room was a good size with lots of storage, a large en-suite (although the lack of frosted windows may not suit some - there are blinds though). The car parking is a bit tight and not all guests could park off road.

The fridge is shared, not an individual one in your room which you might not be comfortable with if you have a drink and a lunch to chill overnight, although the host will let you use her main fridge if space is lacking.

Breakfast was very nice and freshly cooked. Ammonite is in an excellent location if you want to walk in the area, ride on the Swanage Railway, visit RSPB Arne or the beautiful beach at Studland.

Room Tip: Rooms are all good from what we heard, but if you book directly, you may get a better price than via...

Our room was very good, with a lovely view over the garden towards the Purbeck ridge. The location was perfect, nice and quiet and only 5 minutes walk into Corfe. We really enjoy hiking and Corfe/the surrounding area is stunning. Corfe was a great base to hike over to a couple of our favourite pubs; Square and Compass (Worth Matravers, really quirky, great cider and pasties) and Scott Arms, Kingston (incredible view of Corfe Castle). Yvonne is really friendly and can give lots of useful advise in terms of where to eat in Corfe, walks etc. Garry & Vicky

We were only there for one night but found the guest house to be in a very quiet and convenient location with the village centre within easy walking distance. Our room was immaculately clean and well appointed (as was the en suite) with a very comfortable bed. Yvonne is very friendly and most helpful and cooked us a delicious breakfast! Would definitely recommend.
