stayed at this hotel for a 4 day break for my partners birthday, I had previously seen the hotel on the tv programme called the hotel inspector, didn`t really know what to expect. this hotel deserves as much praise that I can give, friendly staff brilliant breakfast and lovely grounds to roam around. particular thanks go to joe.

Arrived unannounced looking for a room for one night. Met the owner Terry who I would describe as a character. Very friendly and made me feel welcome. Was made to feel welcome also by Jo who booked me in and showed me to my room. The room was very nice, and what I would expect for the price. It had everything I needed for a quiet stay. Jo told me a couple of places I could get a meal, and off I went. On returning, Jo was again there to welcome me back, and served me a drink at the bar. I had a great nights sleep, very comfortable bed, and quiet with nothing to disturb me. Breakfast in the morning was of top quality, with Jo again serving me, and even adding an item I requested that was not on the menu. A really nice stay at a hotel that does everything well. I would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: It is so quiet here, I don't think it matters. However I had a double which was apparently the smallest double room, (room 10) which was still a reasonable size.

We had booked this hotel for one night as a detour on our way home from Cornwall. The hotel is very charming and we were greeted by the manager,Jo,and later met the owners of 25 years,Terry and Maureen. They are all charming people and made us feel very welcome.Unfortunately, neither of us were feeling very well on arrival, and so could not make the most of our stay. Our room was good and overlooked part of the gardens and was very quiet. We were sorry that we were not able to see more of the area, and we hopefully plan to return later in the year.Quite a find.
