“Absolutely excellent holiday home, superb accommodation and location.”
Reviewed 26 October 2015 for a stay in October 2015

Recently returned from a wonderful holiday at Pebble View, which is one of the best holiday homes we've ever visited. It was so warm, cosy and comfortable. All the furniture and finishings are to a very high standard, the home is equipped with everything you could think of for your own home, let alone holiday accommodation and most importantly, it was spotlessly clean. Amazing views from 2 of the 3 bedrooms. The owner was so helpful, easy to contact and great to speak with. Thank you so much on behalf of all my family for a great time.

“Lovely House- Invisible Landlord!”

Firstly, I have to say what a lovely and well furnished house. Bathroom and Kitchen especially good, and a view from the attic over the sea to die for! So far so good. However... we drove around the town 5 times before a man at nearby pub directed us to a little alley hidden behind some houses called Greenhill Terrace. A private road with a loose gravel track. Impossible to see from the main road. Not a pleasant experience after a 200 mile drive! Some detailed final approach directions would have helped. The blurb claims free WiFi, but when we tried to log on we were asked for a valid username and password. We were given a password but no username, only a Hotmail address which is useless for a BT hub? Also no BBC, only ITV. Plenty of books, CDs and DVDs. Not a major deal, but depends on your tastes. Also telly was constantly faulty. Then we had a most unusual request to take away our rubbish with us for a £10 discount!! Not sure about everybody else, but going to the local council tip is not high on my agenda when on holiday! I know it is a private road so no bin collection I guess, but whose issue is that? Plenty of fresh bedclothes and towels, etc. Be aware there is hardly any room to park outside and a 15 point turn is gruelling but inevitable. Neighbours erected a chain to prevent easy turning. Again, not sure what all that is about? We did contact the landlord and politely outlined some of the issues, but at no point did he turn up or meet and greet us. If he had, a lot would have been forgiven, but we felt decidedly ignored. We did have a lovely holiday...but it could have been superb!

“Fabulous high quality holiday home with great sea views”

we really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful home. A fully eqipped kitchen with lots of extras like multi-coloured lighting and coffee machine; plenty of space to cook a Christmas meal for 6. Beautiful and spacious bathroom. In the living room a cosy wood fire stove that kept us very comfy; and a lovely dining room. The owner was very friendly and helpful and even provided us with a Christmas tree and Christmas decorations.

Liked best: the decor, the sea views, the kitchen
Liked least: the parking! It's a narrow cul-de-sac and one of the neighbours was a bit grumpy to start with.

“Nice house but neighbours made parking a problem.”

House was better than we expected however upon arrival met by neighbours who immediately stated where we could or could not park. In fact they made it impossible for us to park even a small car outside the house. The car had to be parked 1/4 mile away on a street all week.
Please note that the road to the house is narrow and set back off road through Fortuneswell. Road also not tarmaced and quite steep.
On a plus note the house had everything needed and the kitchen was very well equipped.
Beds were great and towels provided of a very good quality.
The bedrooms were large and the bathroom was large enough to swing a cat in with a good shower.
Log burner made the house very cosy and hot water was on tap with the combi boiler.
The furnishings downstairs were fab and tasteful. Large table with chairs in dining area.
I would gladly recommend this home to friends but for elderly people or people reliant on a car it may cause concern.
Overall the house was great just parking issues caused by neighbours.

“Perfect accomodation, bordering on luxurious!”
Reviewed 25 October 2014 for a stay in August 2014

The pictures of this property don't do it justice - inside looks and feels as luxurious and comfortable as a show home, except with bags more character! Neither of us have ever stayed in such comfortable surroundings and would have been quite happy to move in! Immaculately clean and thoughtfully provisioned.

We travelled with our 9 year son who also loved the house. Portland itself didn't offer a huge amount in terms of entertainment and days out, though this is an insignificant point given that Weymouth etc are just a few minutes away. That said, Portland Bill itself was stunning in a bleak way, and the Lobster Pot cafe there was lovely and had a souvenirs shop attached.

The only reason we didn't mark this 5 star was the lack of outside space, although we were so busy we wouldn't have used it anyway.

“Lovely comfortable cottage”

Stayed at the end of September 14 with my husband and teenage grandson who was sailing at Weymouth. The cottage suited us perfectly, lots of room, very well presented and equipped, clean and comfortable.
We would go back to the same place. A little difficult to find but well worth it.
