Very cold cottage, spiral staircase very dangerous. First cottage we've been to where 1st basket of logs wasn't available to heat the place and the rubbish bin was half full.
Description leads you to believe it is a luxury cottage, it isn't...it is just okay.

Management Response
11 May 2015
We are very sorry that this guest seems not to have had the best time!
It is a 16th century cottage coming with quirky features like the narrow winded staircase. It is carpeted and has got handrail on one side, a rope the other and is not very long. Kids love it and guests have so far not had any problems.
We provide logs in the winter month but not from May onwards. As with anything, guests are encouraged to tell us about any problems and we are fast to help. A basket of logs would not have been an issue if this guests had contacted us whilst staying there. Each room has got a radiator so the cottage is not cold at all but cosy.
Again we are sorry about any issues but would ask guests to contact us during their stay so we can act.

“Charming and well-appointed holiday cottage”
Reviewed 25 March 2015 for a stay in March 2015

Have just spend a lovely few days at this charming and well-appointed cottage. I was there with a group of friends wanting fresh air, good walking and a communal room to chat and be creative - Jasmine Cottage answered all these requests. Its best feature is the large, open-plan kitchen/dining room, which is very well-lit with excellent cooking equipment. The bedrooms are all clean and cosy and the showers good. Low ceilings in places might make it tricky for tall people, but no more than is typical for an old property. We may well be back next year for more of the same.

We spent a week over the New Year Holiday in Jasmine Cottage. It didn't disappoint meeting all our expectations. Situated in the heart of this very picturesque village which is itself just off the main road, it is very quiet and peaceful. The cottage is well equipped, very spacious and decorated to a high standard. The multi-fuel stove in it's large stone inglenook is particularly attractive and was the focus of our evenings although the central heating kept the whole house comfortably warm if you don't want the bother of a real fire. The layout is quirky with two fairly steep staircases reaching the otherwise unconnected, upstairs bedrooms although the large, twin-bedded downstairs bedroom with its own sitting room and bathroom would suit less mobile guests. There is ample and convenient private parking for at least 3 cars at the side of the cottage. Thoroughly recommended and we would definitely stay here again.

Liked best: The spaciousness and the privilege of staying in a beautifully modernised, genuine thatched cottage.
Liked least: Initial provision of logs/kindling for the stove was a little stingy

“Beautiful cottage - a real hidden gem”
Reviewed 4 September 2014 for a stay in September 2014

Stayed at Jasmine Cottage with a family group, ages 4 to 77. Real homely cottage with lots of space and a great kitchen. Downstairs bedroom was a great addition. One of the stair cases is a little quirky, but didn't cause any problems, and the rope was a big hit with the little ones. Owners were great, and very helpful.

First impression of the cottage very good in clean condition. Very spacious but cosy,
generally well equipped but certain oven dishes could do with renewal.
Fridge a bit on the small side for 8 people.
Tall visitors need to take care as ceilings are a bit low and staircase very steep and narrow.
Grandchildren 4,6,7,9 managed very well with the staircase.
Very near Weymouth approx 3 miles with lots of other interesting places to visit.
Lovely walks.

Mobile phone reception (T-mobile and Vodafone) very poor and intermittent, wifi not working for 3 days and when fixed could only receive e-mail but no web browsing!
Owner of cottage attended promptly when phoned to rectify faulty wi-fi.

“Comfortable and well equipped cottage”

Stayed for a weekend as a group of four friends. This cottage was perfect as we all had our own bedroom. Lovely big kitchen and plenty of living room. The stairs are quite steep but were not a problem. One of our party did have mobility problems but as there is a lovely bedroom downstairs this was not an issue. This is a very picturesque, comfortable and well equipped cottage and I would not hesitate to recommend it to others.
