“Great place to stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 May 2014

Went on a cycling weekend with three others and stayed one night in Gorse Farm House. It was a really lovely secluded bed and breakfast. Basically, they have twin rooms for guests in their large farm house. The place was clean, tidy, spacious and decorated to a high standard. The owner was very friendly and attentive and cooked us a lovely big breakfast in the conservatory. Can't think of any faults with this place and would definitely stay there again if in the area.

We just had another blissfully comfortable three-night stay at Gorse Farm House - always a real treat to be here. Everything here is well thought-through, nicely designed with pleasing décor, and spotlessly clean. The huge bed is brilliant - the best we've ever slept in. Gorse Farm House is in a quiet rural location so is utterly peaceful. The excellent breakfast (taken in the attractive conservatory) sets us up for the day. The guests' "snug" is a cosy little lounge (has a TV) where we could relax in the evening and play cards or a board game. (In fine weather you can sit outside and enjoy the rural ambience.) Wendy and Lee are the perfect hosts - accommodating and helpful but never intrusive. A true Dorset gem!

Room Tip: If you like to have a shower, the room with private bathroom should suit you well, as it has a good...

We were a group of four friends doing the North cycle Dorset route and decided to spend one night at Gorse Farm. Everything was exceptional. The owners were extremely hospitable and would definitely go back again.

My husband and I spent one night at this fabulous B&B on our way home from Devon. I only wished it could have been longer - truly sumptuous with a wonderful roll-top bath (heaven), amazing attention to detail ('box of useful things') and delicious full English the next morning. A very warm welcome from Wendy offering tea and biscuits on arrival in the conversatory. Beautiful home surrounded by Lee's fascinating wood carvings (what a craftsman!). Wendy even returned my mac which I stupidly left in the wardrobe - what service. Will definitely go again if ever we're in that neck of the woods. Thank you both for a lovely stay.

Room Tip: Choose the one with the roll-top bath!

One of the very best bed & breakfast stays we have ever stayed in. The room was really comfortable, spotlessly clean and very attractively decorated. The roll top bath was a treat! Wendy and Lee are friendly, interesting people who made us welcome with tea and biscuits on arrival. They were able to give us information on the nearest pub with good food. The box of 'useful things' was very useful as my husband had forgotten to pack the conversion plug for his shaver, and there it was. Breakfast in the conservatory was excellent, fresh fruit and cereal to start followed by a choice from the full English to scramble egg on toast. Also really good coffee. The garden and Lee's wonderful wood carving just added to the experience.
This one is well worth a visit.
Thank you for a very relaxing stay.

Room Tip: Room with en suite roll top bath was great.

Very attractive, cosy, comfy and spotlessly clean bedrooms. The farmhouse is nicely decorated with Lee's wooden work (Very Creative Wooden Work). Run by Wendy and Lee, who provided a
friendly and a warm welcome, very welcoming. I stayed with them for almost three weeks working in the area. After work, I really looked forward going back to have a nice warm bath in a very spacious bathroom. I struggled waking up in the morning after a peaceful night sleep. I really felt at home. The breakfast was nicely cooked to order, scrambled eggs, very delicious indeed.
I highly recommend this B & B to anyone either on business or holiday as this Farmhouse is a cut above the best. I truly loved Wendy's personal touch.
You can leave the 'busy life, London life' behind and step into a very quite and a relaxing countryside farmhouse.
Thanks Wendy and Lee.
Za.

Room Tip: The En-suite bedroom is the best, very spacious.

Whether you're on a business trip or looking for a relaxing break in Dorset, I suggest you take advantage of this comfortable and friendly farmhouse.
I've now stayed several times and will continue to do so as long as my business takes me to Dorset.
The rooms are more than comfortable and small touches such as the fruit, chocolate biscuits and sweets make your stay memorable.
Breakfast is freshly cooked and served with a chat and an update on Lee's latest carving challenge.

Room Tip: Both rooms are excellent withe en suite edging my preference.
