Gorse Farm House Bed and Breakfast
Reviewed 23 June 2014

A really excelent place to stay. The en-suite room we occupied for three nights was large, airy, very comfortable, clean and well decorated. The setting for the farmhouse is tranquil and delightful. Wendy and Lee the owners are great hosts and so friendly. Breakfast is excellent and everything you could want. The whole experience of staying was a pleasure. We will be back.

We stayed just one night in the en suite room on our way to the West Country. This place is truly exceptional, everything has been thought of, down to the box of 'useful things' in the room and milk in a flask to keep it fresh. The location is tranquil . Wendy and Lee are great hosts and so helpful - Lee helped us plan our itinerary for the following day and Wendy recommended a restaurant. Tea and biscuits on arrival, and a lovely breakfast the next day eaten in a charming conservatory. Lee is a wood sculptor and the property showcases some of his work. The garden is a lovely place to walk around. Our only regret is that we had only booked for one night! We will definitely return, this place is in a class of its own.

Room Tip: The en suite room has a bath only (but what a bath, roll top with gold taps!) so if you prefer a sho...

Went on a cycling weekend with three others and stayed one night in Gorse Farm House. It was a really lovely secluded bed and breakfast. Basically, they have twin rooms for guests in their large farm house. The place was clean, tidy, spacious and decorated to a high standard. The owner was very friendly and attentive and cooked us a lovely big breakfast in the conservatory. Can't think of any faults with this place and would definitely stay there again if in the area.

We just had another blissfully comfortable three-night stay at Gorse Farm House - always a real treat to be here. Everything here is well thought-through, nicely designed with pleasing décor, and spotlessly clean. The huge bed is brilliant - the best we've ever slept in. Gorse Farm House is in a quiet rural location so is utterly peaceful. The excellent breakfast (taken in the attractive conservatory) sets us up for the day. The guests' "snug" is a cosy little lounge (has a TV) where we could relax in the evening and play cards or a board game. (In fine weather you can sit outside and enjoy the rural ambience.) Wendy and Lee are the perfect hosts - accommodating and helpful but never intrusive. A true Dorset gem!

Room Tip: If you like to have a shower, the room with private bathroom should suit you well, as it has a good...

We were a group of four friends doing the North cycle Dorset route and decided to spend one night at Gorse Farm. Everything was exceptional. The owners were extremely hospitable and would definitely go back again.

My husband and I spent one night at this fabulous B&B on our way home from Devon. I only wished it could have been longer - truly sumptuous with a wonderful roll-top bath (heaven), amazing attention to detail ('box of useful things') and delicious full English the next morning. A very warm welcome from Wendy offering tea and biscuits on arrival in the conversatory. Beautiful home surrounded by Lee's fascinating wood carvings (what a craftsman!). Wendy even returned my mac which I stupidly left in the wardrobe - what service. Will definitely go again if ever we're in that neck of the woods. Thank you both for a lovely stay.

Room Tip: Choose the one with the roll-top bath!

One of the very best bed & breakfast stays we have ever stayed in. The room was really comfortable, spotlessly clean and very attractively decorated. The roll top bath was a treat! Wendy and Lee are friendly, interesting people who made us welcome with tea and biscuits on arrival. They were able to give us information on the nearest pub with good food. The box of 'useful things' was very useful as my husband had forgotten to pack the conversion plug for his shaver, and there it was. Breakfast in the conservatory was excellent, fresh fruit and cereal to start followed by a choice from the full English to scramble egg on toast. Also really good coffee. The garden and Lee's wonderful wood carving just added to the experience.
This one is well worth a visit.
Thank you for a very relaxing stay.

Room Tip: Room with en suite roll top bath was great.
