Think of all the people who are giving you grief and you would like to shoot if it was possible so instead take yourself off to Purbeck and blast some clay pigeons . There is nothing better than having a wander in the country side in good company and pitting your skill against a small clay whooshing through the air at a high rate of knots and seeing it smoke in front of your eyes ! That is if you hit the damn thing .

The ground is now split into two very distinct areas. Under cover stands for tuition and stag/hens are conveniently situated close by the cafe but are out of bounds to regular shooters; stands for non-supervised shooters are accessed via a path through woods. High towers, skeet layout and grouse butts now seem permanently closed.

Overall the total walk covering all stands must be in the order of 2k or so. It is very exposed in parts. With no stands under cover and no shelter. it will be far from ideal in bad weather. Self-drive buggies are available for hire that will take you to all but the last few stands which are accessed over rougher ground, Most traps are quite testing so not the easiest for novice shots

Cafe is good value and other shooters/staff are all very friendly; tuition is very good. Plenty of parking.

A group of 5 of us went to Purbeck Shooting school on a gloriously sunny Saturday afternoon in June following a morning at the nearby Bovington Tank Museum and had a blast shooting clays for a couple of hours. Very well run, very professional and our instructor was a great sport, thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend to anyone who fancies trying their luck with a shotgun!

Went as a group of 13 friends, it was a very mixed group of both men and women. We split into 2 groups and had lots of time and practice each before finishing with a competion between the two teams. The instructors were very good and made sure that we all had fun. I would highly recommend th team here.
