We spent 5 days in a large executive room it was clean & a large bathroom & balcony which over looked the small lake & well kept garden.
we had a family lunch for 14 & the food was excellent & the staff all so, we will return to the restaurant as the food is all ways of good quality breakfast
lunch & dinner.
well done to all the staff from John the manager to the domestic staff all with a smile when they pass you in the hotel, thank you for making our Golden wedding celebration luncheon & stay such a wonderful time for us all.

Room Tip: floor two over looking the lake

Recently a party of 29 of us stayed for four days at the Springfield Country Hotel, for four days. We used the hotel as a springboard to walk the Purbeck coast, that fabulous path linking Swanage with Weymouth. The hotel was everything we could wish for - excellent rooms, lovely gardens, and a great chef who provided us with fabulous evening meals - very welcome after a day at the coast in unsettled weather. This is in fact the third time over six years that we have mounted this walking tour - the hotel was excellent each time - so an example of how to maintain consistent standards.

This hotel says that it is dog friendly...not really.. we had a small well behaved dog who was only allowed in the room we were not even able to walk her in the grounds.
We paid £10 extra per day for the dog...why?
The hotel is expensive for the quality, our Superior Room...was ok, tired but clean.
The rest of the hotel was so tired and shabby it was like a bad retirement home!!!
I would not have let my dog lay on the carpet if they had let her in the lounge.
There were workmen wandering in and out, even collecting breakfast from the breakfast room.
The breakfast ...continental buffet style...( an insult to the continent ) cheap cereals, tinned & frozen fruit.
Fruit juices, one of which was off and when we complained the women in charge said it was fine and refused to remove it ...... it was back out the next day.
Nasty packets of Danish pastries and cheap coffee.
The cooked breakfast was a little better.
We had a lovely, helpful young lady serving at Breakfast who was taking a year out from Uni, the rest of the staff in the breakfast room were curt & rude.
There were a couple of nice reception staff too.
Overall, not impressed for £165 (incl dog) per night B&B a rip off....would not recommend.

Room Tip: Hard to find one!!!

£230 for one double room for one night for what really was about an £80 accommodation experience (at best). That's a nigh-on 300% increase on this tatty shabby dark dingy filthy stinky place's intrinsic value. We had high hopes for 230 pounds worth of hotel and this place advertised itself very attractively. In truth? Bed sheets were torn & stained, cellophane wrapped LIDL breakfast pastries were served, dirty carpets. See other reviews for longer lists of disturbing and wrong features. This place is both ripping you off with its enormously inflated prices and in dire need of an entire refit & refurb. Second thoughts, the building is so dog-ugly it's probably kinder to the world at large to flatten the whole thing and put the forest back.

Stayed here with my wife for a wedding.

£170 for the best room they had including early check-in meant we expected something reasonable.

Room size good, but decor is very old and tired and the bed had seen better days. Sofa & bedcover were stained, curtains have seen better days. Balcony overlooking gardens was nice and we could have the doors open on a hot night (no air con). Bathroom was clean and large but dated. On-wall 'Lux' soap dispensers make the place feel like a Travelodge, but at a much higher price.

We didn't use any of the sports facilities so can't comment on those.

We didn't take breakfast as we had to leave early & friends who had stayed the previous night reported a low quality (undercooked sausages).

Unfortunately I won't return and I wouldn't recommend to others.

Stayed here for 3 nights for a relaxing break in Dorset. Although there are aspects of the hotel that are a little tired, it is clean and comfortable, the staff were all friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast is cooked to order and is of good quality and when we requested veg with it, the chef was happy to oblige. We made use of all the facilities, including the outdoor pool. Our room was serviced each day. We ate in the restaurant one evening and again the food was of good quality. We would happily return for another visit. One thing to note if you book directly with the hotel, breakfast is included in the cost.

This hotel is the opposite of "no expense spared". Looks like it was built in the late 60s/early 70s, not a penny spent on it since. Circa £120/night including breakfast. Note - breakfast service finishes at the ungodly time of 9.45am. Perhaps this is when breakfast services finished in the 1970s? Not sure. Either way, in addition to struggling for sleep all night because of the boiling hot rooms, you then have to set your alarm to ensure you make it for breakfast to try and get some sense of value for money. If they changed the theme of this place to being a "1970s Experience Hotel" then at least potential customers would know what they're in for. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

Room Tip: No rooms are good, choose another hotel
