We went here last night for a meal and it was excellent. The food was lovely and the guys that run it were great hosts. Definitely somewhere I will return to again and again. The carvery is highly recommended, as is the Black Forest Roulade ..... mmm yummy.

This a new carvery all meat is locally sorced and cooked to perfection, 4 meats to choose from, but mid week may be only 2 available, plus choice of a different pie each night and a specials board.
Vegetables fresh and cooked to a likable degree no hard carrots or sprouts like bullets!! Plus 7 or 8 veg to choose from, all the condiments to go with meats are home made, i.e stuffing apple sauce etc.
Sweets WOW all good, the choc pudding is called THE BEAST after a portion you won't want to eat for 2 days. These 2 courses will set you back £11.95, you can add to this by having a starter, and of course beers spirits, wine, and to finish coffee or tea.
All this in a warm cosy atmosphere and attentive staff.
This based on my 2 visit with friends. NOW OPEN FOR BREAKFAST.

Perfectly cooked beef, turkey and gammon joints, plus tasty stuffing, Yorkshire puddings and herby sliced sausages to accompany the meat.
What a selection of vegetables, really lovely.

Called in on Sunday (group of 6 after a very early photo shoot) after being sent away from a nearly empty Salted Pig because we were just 2 MINUTES past last orders for breakfast, and although the owner had started clearing the food away for his lunch tables he gladly served us and cooked fresh eggs too, the food was locally sourced produce and first class (butchers sausages and black pud) The owner was chatty and enthusiastic about his restuarant and keen to please. Thanks Salted Pig, you did us a favour, we will not be back. Just out of interest, we used to go to the Granary, but they have reduced their portion sizes and stopped giving toast with their full english. The Saxon now takes pole position!
