Following friend's recommendation we stayed here to be close to Moors Valley Park which is great for kids. Well designed and very spacious site with good facilities and the most helpful and friendly hosts. We are already planning our return.

This a a very large but not over crowded campsite with very good facilities , only missing somewhere to do laundry - although there is a laundrette not too far away. The pitches are in meadows with mown paths to the bathroom block . Quiet and peaceful ( only marred by the odd inconsiderate camper who ignores the not before 9 am noise rule). Large pitches where you can have a camp fire in a brazier ( provided) or an off the ground BBQ . Wood and kindling is delivered to your pitch. There are also set up tents complete with decking if this is your choice. We had a very lovely week camping here in our 5 metre bell tent plus a gazebo. No problem with space and the evenings sitting up on the ridge above the rest of the site , with our Neal eaten, sitting by the campfire were fantastic. Very recommended campsite for couples or families, well away from the road .

Imagine the scene: I am sipping a cold beer next to my little camp on a small plot with just one other tent nearby. The plots are neatly presented with mown grass, dotted around a beautiful meadow plentiful with wild flowers, surrounded by the sounds of birds and animals. As dusk falls the fire roars into action and across the meadow I can see smoke and hear laughter coming from the other camps who are relaxing and enjoying the experience. BBQ lit, my partner and I dine on an enormous feast of food cooked in the open and sit back to enjoy the moment. Bats flit past, birds sing their evening song and after dark an owl can be heard in the distance. Perfect!

My contact with Riversidelakes began with an email to enquire about availability. Maggie (one of the owners) replied within a day, and was incredibly helpful answering all of my questions. Several days later after confirming the booking, Maggie was very understanding when some of my group had to cancel at short notice, which was most appreciated. On arrival Maggie greeted us with a warm smile and I knew it was going to be a good experience.

Each night we were visited by Maggie’s husband to ask how we were, and Maggie’s son who brought us wood for the fire. It felt like the whole family really cared about our experience, as opposed to some campsites who operate in a much more commercial way. The atmosphere around the camp was calm, safe and friendly and felt like a really special place to be.

There were a few chickens, a goose and a couple of ducks wandering around, plus a litter of piglets which were an absolute delight to visit. There was a fantastic rope swing which attracted most of the children on the site, though after their bed time it was free for us to play on - and relive our youth!

All in all this was one of the most relaxing and satisfying camping trips I've ever been on, and this was purely because the owners really care about your experience. I would not hesitate to recommend this site, and will definitely be returning next time I have a free weekend.

We stayed here as a base for an off road cycling trip along the Wessex ridgeway trail to Lyme Regis / Charmouth. Traffic delays meant our plan to drive and leave a car in Lyme Regis the night before our trip wasn't possible. We asked the owners if they knew any taxi drivers/ locals who would fancy a sat evening drive to collect us after the ride ( we would pay). The owner straight away offered, and took 3 hours out of his sat evening to collect us, which was just very, very good of him. Lovely site, loads of space, nice area and very helpful owners who genuinely want everyone to have a great time. Can't recommend enough.

We have just returned from a 2 night break at riverside. Nigel and Maggie are absolutely charming and nothing is too much trouble for them.. !! The pitches are huge and beautifully sited and they come round in the evening with wood for your brazier, this meant we could sit outside enjoying the evening until late. The site is well placed for local attractions( corfe castle was a great day out and dog friendly too!) and pubs and they even had a Chinese and Indian that delivered!! . Although it was half term week( not sure we realised) and there were children they were all well behaved and the atmosphere was great and quiet and peaceful as promised.
The facilities were second to none with hair dryers and even lit make up mirrors! On leaving we stopped by reception to buy some of their own sausages ( delicious!!! ) only to find we had a flat tyre and fully loaded car!! Nigel helped us change the tyre and we were on our way in15 minutes.. Fab customer service, lovely people and our cockerpoo puppy daisy loved it too!! We will return soon I hope

We have just returned from a 3 night stay at this campsite. It is the first time we have been camping and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. The campsite is lovely and the facilities are great and very clean. The owners are very friendly and helpful. The children loved the glow stocks which the owner gave them each night - a really nice touch. The pitch we had was lovely and had plenty of room. We will definitely be back.

This was only our 2nd camping experience and after having stayed previously at Thistledown, we were worried that it would not live up to the previous site. We didn't have to worry, it was wonderful. The pitches are well spaced, giving you privacy and the facilities are great. We found the owners to be really friendly and extremely helpful and polite. The glow sticks for the children were a lovely touch and whilst some may feel the rules constrictive, we appreciated being able to be somewhere quiet with a small group of friends where everyone observed each others space and respected the tranquillity of the place. We will definitely be returning next year!
