“Average food”
Reviewed 3 June 2014

Walked to this pub on a Sunday Lunchtime and found it with very little trade. The beer was good but the food average although it was served very quickly. We ordered a sharing Fish Meze for 2 at £12.50 and it was enough for 1 person. Even the bread was limited. 3 slices of a French stick so we ordered and paid for extra bread. I would suggest at least 4 slices would be nice and it does divide by 2. Next time when walking this way we will continue on into Wimborne where there is a good range of eating places and prices.

“Willett be a good decision?... certainly was!”
Reviewed 2 June 2014

We were looking for a place to eat out as a family to celebrate our sons birthday, a cycle ride past the Willet Arms into Wimborne during the day made our mind up. We booked a table for 7pm, it was recommended that we did when we popped in to look at the menu, but it wasn't busy (as it was a Sunday evening) so booking wasn't required, we arrived around 18:30 and there was live music, but unfortunatley the band was just packing up, and so were most of the crowds, it was clearly a daytime venue (again this was a Sunday, so I guess people had work the next day). However, after a couple of drinks in the Garden we made our way to the table, most of the menu was not available due to a busy day schedule, again alluding toward a daytime venue. Having said that, the food that we did have was really tasty, above average fayre is the best way to describe it. Sometimes its not about the the food though, its about the surroundings, the service and the atmosphere and most importantly the company, if these work, the food can be standard and you still wouldn't be disappointed, glad to say we had all of the above. The service was great, Megan was friendly, efficient and fun, really made us feel welcome. All in all we had a great evening, in a lovely pub with good food a great service, you can't ask for more than that! Would have got a five if it were not for the majority of the menu being unavailable, perhaps a good service would have been to tell us when we booked during the bike ride, that would have been going the extra mile....

“Could have been better.”
Reviewed 28 May 2014

Food was not of a very good standard and some dishes were very small portions. Service was ok. On a Tuesday when we visited there were only 4 tables occupied. One good thing was the mushroom starter which was very good.

“Very good value and service”
Reviewed 27 May 2014

Very quick and attentive service. Mushrooms on brioche and scallops were both very good and served within 15 mins. Mains of salad/salmon, haddock/chips and sticky chicken arrived promptly and all were very good. Portions large enough that we couldn't consider desserts.

“Limited menu, poor value”
Reviewed 27 May 2014

My wife and I were out for lunch with our daughter and grand-daughter. My wife is a vegetarian and the only offer on the day’s special menu was sold out and she struggled to find an alternative on the main menu. She decided to go for two starters as suggested by our waitress. Although the rest of us were meat eaters we also found it difficult to decide on our meals as the menu was basic and quite expensive. My daughter and I settled for the ‘Shredded pork sandwiches’ with fries and our granddaughter meat balls with pasta from the children’s menu. I have no complaint with the service, it was good but our shredded pork sandwiches were all but void of pork and at £ 7.95 each, extremely poor value.
