Been here a couple of times and it's always full of kids! It gets very busy with people queuing for tables and unless you get a table at the far end you end up sitting in a corridor or by the toilets with everyone pushing by!
The food is quite nice but more expensive than most pub chains.Staff are friendly and helpful. I think they need a better spread of tables and get rid of the public bar. Car park is large but with gravel/stones etc and when it rains you get covered in mud and clay.

12 ladies ate here after an educational visit to a nearby school. To say the food lacked preparation skills is an understatement. This group meet regularly and have dined out all over Dorset for a number of years. Without exception this is the worst experience we have had.

Visited this pub on Saturday 30th for a anniversary lunch. Ordered our food and no mention of any delay, just over an hour passed before our starter arrived. Surely it doesn't take 1 hour to cook 4 king prawns and put a bit of mixed salad on a plate, another 45 mins for the main to arrive and then I had to chase up the dessert. no apologies. All in all over 2 hours from time of order to receipt of pudding. NOT GOOD ENOUGH.
Do not go here if you have plans for later in the day,or you will have to cancel.

We have eaten a number of times at this pub, mainly at weekends with kids. It is a very child-friendly establishment with a nice playground for kids and plenty of grounds to run around in. It can get very busy inside and out, especially on nice days so it is a case of being prepared to wait for a table, though in the past they have made this very clear. However, we went there at 2:30 on a Saturday afternoon in early spring and whilst we got a table for 4 straight away, it took an hour and some prompting for the food to appear, despite the dinner time rush being over. What was worse was other diners who arrived and ordered after us got their food first and had left before we started eating! The food is ok but is reasonably priced and the staff are always friendly so that saves it from being a 1 or 2 star review. As it is a pleasant place to sit in and caters well for families, try it out before dismissing it - just don't expect gourmet food and sharp service.

I can't actually believe this pub is still up and running and serving food. I have eaten in a lot of 'average' places but the food I have experienced here is atrocious and well below average.
We have given this pub loads of chances over the years as it's local and the location is nice, but it never fails to, well, fail!
The wait fr food is always around the 45 minute mark, wether it's busy or not. I wouldn't mind so much if the wait was worth it, but it really is not.
The order is almost always mucked up by the waiting staff and when it finally does arrive it produces itself as a microwaved mess. No presentation with stains all over the plate, tasteless and burnt. Avoid like the plague
