The view from our window faced the beach and we watched Cormorants diving for fish. The restaurant was excellent. Good food and service. We went to the haunted part of the castle and heard strange tappings in the room where Isabella Shaw was imprisoned by her husband. The flower garden behind the hotel was awesome also. Would love to go back again soon.

We had provisionally booked our wedding with Ballygally for May 2012 but ended cancelling due to poor customer relations with wedding coordinator and management. We started out with great dreams about our big day but these were gradually worn down by slow, minimal and pretty negative responses.
Due to the current economic climate we asked if there could be any small negotiation in price on anything at all but were point blankly refused. We even realised that Ballygally were charging far more for all their drinks than other 4 star hotels within their Hastings Group (up £2 more per drink!). We asked if they could come into line with their sister hotels but they refused to give anything as a gesture.
The management seem to be stuck in the past and would need to change the way they treat the customer. Any small gesture of goodwill goes a long way. Also, if they could actually reply to emails within 24hrs of being sent, rather than leaving it for a few days, it would help.
We took a reviewers advice and decided to go with the Galgorm Spa who have given us a high quality of service since day one and they are only too happy to help with anything.

My husband, friend and I were extremely impressed with the Ballygally Castle. We booked this hotel twice; prior and after taking the ferry to Scotland. The location is perfect for anyone traveling over to Scotland - it is only a 10 minutes drive to the ferry. Steph at the front desk made our stay so enjoyable. Did not get the same friendliness from the gentleman who initially checked us in. Steph made sure we had all our questions answered about the area and made dinner reservations for us as well. I wish they would have offered to reduce our rate since we were not able to enjoy the breakfast with our first stay - that is dissapointing since we did pay for a Bed and Breakfast.

We were just as happy with our return stay but this time did have time to enjoy the Irish Breakfast. We would definitely return back to Ballygally for our future travels to Northern Ireland

After we arrived, all we could say was, "Wow!" In searching for two years for our Northern Ireland accommodations, we eventually chose the Ballygally Castle Hotel simply because it was the only overnight "castle" experience that fit in with our 2-week traveling agenda across Ireland. We were a little hesitant in booking here, quite honestly because the photos we found online absolutely did not do the property justice; however, once we arrived, it was so much more than we ever dreamed it would be. The beach across the road from the hotel is fabulous; we spent at least a couple of hours taking pictures, exploring & looking at all the beautiful shells & rocks. We then discovered the lush gardens behind the hotel, complete with hidden oddities and a trout stream that flows out into the Atlantic. Between the 5 of us, I bet we took about 400 pictures at this establishment alone. The dinner was incredible; impeccable service and presentation, by far the best meal we had on our trip. They also have a wonderful lounge and sitting area, with quirky knick-knacks around every corner. We booked 3 of the tower rooms, which are in the castle part of the hotel. The rooms were all immaculate, the bedding was extremely comfy & cute views from our little windows (which opened!). The bathrooms were spotless and we had plenty of hot water....even a rubber ducky for a souvenir. We will without a doubt stay here again should we ever visit the area. It was truly an unexpected gem; we had a fabulous stay!

My partner and I stayed at Ballygally Castle hotel for 1 night. The hotel was nice and the staff very friendly.
We were disappointed when we got to our room to find two single beds after booking a double room. We were told that most of the rooms have single beds with the choice of pushing them together, that wasnt very successful!
We had a meal which we could not fault, it was excellent and the staff were very attentive.
The only downside of staying here is there is very little to do around the hotel and the surrounding area and the bar area is very quiet.
We enjoyed our stay here but cannot see us returning.

We stayed here for a wedding. It was a beautiful hotel. The food was excellent and the rooms were spacious and nicely decorated. The toiletries were from The White Company which was a nice touch! There is a haunted room which you can go and visit and adds character to an already characterful hotel. The views of the sea from some of the rooms are very scenic. Creaky floorboards were the only drawback but perhaps that is to be expected in an old hotel.
