“Tranquil Historic Hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 August 2012

Recently stayed in this beautiful historic hotel with family. Everything was so well organised by the staff, who are very efficient and friendly. The Manger Stephen was very present in the hotel, ensuring that guests were well looked after.
We had spacious rooms with sea views. Enjoyed alovely evening meal and breakfast.
would certainly recommend this hotel and hope to return again soon.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view

Beautiful setting on the Irish Sea. Front dest staffer was very enthusiastic. Nice rooms. Beautiful gardens in the rear. Breakfast was probably the best we had in two weeks in Ireland - excellent pastries. There is even a ghost room in the tower.

Where to start.....wonderful room, setting, view, service, beds......I can't thank the hotel and staff more for such a wonderful stay. I recommend a visit to the local country park, about 5 mins away. The coast road is a lovely drive and very scenic. We found the locals very welcoming, and Bally Gally is a nice location to visit other local attractions.

Convenient from the Larne Ferry Terminal, we arrived at 10.30 pm. The welcome was friendly and efficient. The room was beautiful, but with no hot water. The management however, offered a suitable reduction in the bill to compensate. Breakfast was lavish and varied, (Great soda bread).

Stopped briefly for a snack on our way to the Giant's Causeway and really enjoyed the surroundings, service and friendly staff. Although it was early August the hotel was promoting all sorts of Christmas offers, stopovers, meals and events!!

This is my second time staying @ the Ballygally Castle and as ever it didn't disappoint. It was my partners birthday so I decided to book 1 of the executive double rooms as a treat these rooms are located in the the tower which is the oldest part of the castle, are room was the Glenann. The room was lovely and had a real oldie worldie charm about it. The beds are massive and are so comfortable. We ate in the restaurant at night as this was included in the room package the food was first class all locally sourced ingredients I would diffinately recommend the 10oz dexter sirloin steak which I had and my partner had the 14oz Hereford sirloin on the bone he equally enjoyed his meal. We both had the prawn cocktail to start with which comes with the most gorgeous guinness weaten bread. The staff are very pleasant and nothing is to much trouble for them. We had I few drinks in the bar @ night I would recommend trying the fruit salad cocktail yummy!! Another must while you are there is a visit to the ghost room it's diffinately better to visit at night though.
