My husband and I spent 6 pleasant nights at the Quarrytown Lodge. We chose this location to visit Belfast and the Antrim Coast as we wanted a peaceful, country setting. So for us It was worth the 40 minute drive to Belfast. Ballymena bills itself as the "Gateway to the Glens of
Antrim." So it was a perfect location for that. The house and grounds are lovely. We stayed in room 1. It was ample sized, clean and had both a double and single bed. The double bed was comfortable. The single bed was extremely uncomfortable, and the mattress should probably be replaced. I wince at having to write this as everything else about Quarrylodge was perfect.
Margaret was pleasant and accommodating, and a real delight. The breakfast was average for
B & Bs in Ireland. Margaret's porridge and scrambled eggs were outstanding. The house also has a nice, bright conservatory and it was pleasant in sit in there at the end of the day. I would certainly recommend this B & B and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.More
