“Amazing food, helpful staff and a great night”
Reviewed 23 March 2012

I recently booked High Street 51 for a family party and found the staff to be very accommodating in relation to the whole booking. A number of special dietary meals were required and this presented no problems to the chef who was more than happy to accomodate.

The food is delicious from the starters, main course and dessert, and I could not fault the restaurant!

There were 30 people in our booking and we had a range of dishes from steak, fish, duck and chicken. The menu is varied and there is definitely something to suit everyone. I would definitely recommend the restaurant and have been back since our party - again the same amazing food enjoyed. You can also bring your own alcohol with no corkage fee!

This place is great and offers fantastic value in the present economy!

“Totally blew away!!”
Reviewed 8 March 2012

Went to high st. 51 a few times before in the past both for breakfast and lunch and every time wasn't disappointed! The standard of both the food and the service was great. and also very reasonably priced and very quick to come. i realised that they were now open for evening meals and doing any 3 courses off the menu for £12.50 all homemade deserts and breads etc and bring your own wine. what more do you want i ask? I started with crab claws which were served with homemade bread, lemon garlic mayo and dressed rocket:) fantastic i say! then had pan seared salmon served on a bed of warm potato salad with sundried tomatoes, basil oil and watercress. for desert i had homemade sticky toffee pudding with warm toffee sauce. vanilla icecream and tuille biscuit. all together the food was probably the best Ive ever tasted and very well presented. well done to the chefs and also service was very efficient always very helpfull and very knowledgeable and helpful with chosing from the menu. will go back for sure!

“Pleasantly Surprised”
Reviewed 16 February 2012

Have eaten here during the day on several occasions.Food was good, servers pleasant and priced to suit shoppers and local workers alike.Tried the new menu when it opened at night and loved it. You've heard the saying "when somethings too good to be true it usually is" at "High Street 51" this is not the case, but you don't have to take my word for it,stop in and have a Starter,a Main course and a Dessert for less than £20 and find out for yourself.
