“Perfect!”
Reviewed 22 April 2017 for a stay in April 2017

We have just returned from a wonderful week staying at the Watermill. We were a group of 8, staying as 4 couples. We each had our own spacious room with queen/king size beds. The house was spotlessly clean. We didn't like the taxidermy, no doubt because we are townies!, but we loved our rural idyll. Views from the lounge over the river were fantastic, but we spent most of our time relaxing in the kitchen, sitting round the farmhouse table. An afternoon on the balcony over the river was just perfect.

Our host Alex was fabulous. Friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend staying here. Kells is well situated, 20 or so minutes from Belfast and 30 -40 minutes to the Causeway. We will be back!

Thank you, Janice and Vincent. I am glad you all enjoyed the peace and tranquility of the mill house and gardens and that the location of the mill was ideal for your day trips to the North Antrim Coast, Glens and Belfast and of course, The Galgorm Resort and Spa!
It was an privilage to host you and I look forward to seeing you again. By the way, the kitchen table is the place to be in Ireland!
Warm wishes, Alex

“Wonderful place to stay”
Reviewed 4 April 2017 for a stay in March 2017

Kellswater Mill is an historic converted flax mill. It has oodles of character and charm. It is set in an idyllic quiet location a few miles from Ballymena, with facilities in the nearby village of Kells. If you like sharp, contemporary chic then this isn't for you, but we loved it. It was amazingly comfortable for seven of us, and would have managed a couple more with ease. The owner could not have been more friendly, helpful or welcoming. Without a doubt we'll be back at some point for a longer stay, if only to have time to sit and look out for the kingfishers and otters that frequent the river in front of the mill. Thank you Alex.

“Perfect Family Weekend”
Reviewed 23 January 2017 for a stay in January 2017

Excellent weekend Family get-together. We booked this house for the long weekend (Saturday to Monday) and it was fantastic. The river and working mill wheel made it a very unique setting. It is a beautiful location - very tranquil! We couldn't believe how we were only 30 minutes from Belfast - such a difference! The house itself is brilliant, very spacious and warm (on a particularly cold weekend). We were provided with plenty of fuel for the stove fire and everyone enjoyed the house. We have a 6 month old baby and a high chair, travel cot, sterilising kit were all provided as standard.

We would recommend this house very highly!

“Christmas magic ”
Reviewed 29 December 2016 for a stay in December 2016

We had an Irish family reunion at this simply stunning location in Kells. A Christmas away from home is always a gamble but from start to finish we could not have asked for more. The entire house was tastefully decorated for us on arrival. Food in kitchen and plenty added extras . The Mill itself is wonderful to see and the ford and rivers running through are different and we just loved our stay . Perfect host ,surroundings and atmosphere. Couldn't fault it .

Just stayed in this house for two nights.
It is absolutely stunning. Th pictures don't do it any justice.
It's very spacious and it was the perfect size for the 5 of us.
It was immaculate and had lots amenities which was very helpful for us as we were travelling light.
Alex the host was so helpful and even left us some bits to eat and drink.
The location was great, about 20 minutes from the airport and in the most gorgeous setting.
I can't stress enough how lovely this property is and the watermill is great.
Would love to come back here again in the future.

Thank you Abi.
I am glad you enjoyed your stay. I am sorry I wasn't there to show you around and that my "instructions' text was sufficient to get you settled! It's a pity your flights were delayed or you could have enjoyed the fire which `i'm sure was out by the time you arrived. I would also like to thank you for taking such good care of the mill house. You'll be welcome anytime.

“A magical weekend in a perfect location”

We have just come back from a weekend in the Kellswater Mill. It exceeded all of our expectations.

The property was fantastic, a makeover worthy of the programme Grand Designs. The owners have paid huge attention to detail, making the property both comfortable and unique.

The setting was magical, as we arrived, we drove over the river to a stunning location surrounded by nature. The blossoms were falling from the trees and there was even a heron perched in the river.

The owner stays onsite and could not have been more helpful. My little boy fell in love with her 3 dogs.

My family all thoroughly enjoyed the cottage and felt the photos online did not do it justice.

We were sad to leave as they felt there was much more they could see and do if they stayed longer and I could only cheer them up by promising that we would try and come back again.,

Thank you for your kind words Kelly. I am so pleased that you enjoyed the house and your special weekend with your family. Your gifts were totally unnecessary but greatly appreciated. Thank you. The heron looks prehistoric sitting on the rocks waiting for his next fish doesn't he? It's a pity the otter did not come along the garden before dark for your boys to see her and pup. Maybe next time!
