“It didn't happen - the waitress was out front having a smoke..”
Reviewed 11 March 2014

What a most fabulous scenery and view around the harbour at ballintoy - great to see workmen working on the paths around the harbour in anticipation of spring!

The day we visitied it was a bright but cold day, go we were delighted to see the tea room open! Unfortunately, the person serving was not inside, but out finishing a cigarette - while we waited I had a look around the establishment - didn't like what I saw, needs a good clean and tidy. Then the smell of stale smoke filled the room as the server arrived back! - we aborted our plans! - sorry.

“Lovely family place hidden away in a magical cove”
Reviewed 29 December 2013

This little gem of a Irish eatery is hidden away in a little natural port between the Carrick-a-Rede bridge and the giants causeway. If you're up for a small, quiet break at the Irish seaside this is the place to go. We enjoyed a lovely Irish stew and a piece of cake - just lovely. The area surrounding the little cottage invites exploration and is fun for young and old.

“Good home cooking in a lovely spot”
Reviewed 29 December 2013

I remember coming here with my grandparents 30 years ago so wanted to bring my boyfriend on a trip down memory lane. Ballintoy was just as I remembered it - and lunch was exactly what we were after - home made soda bread and Irish stew - hearty, wholesome goodness. We also had a homemade pie - highly delicious and calorific. The staff are very friendly if a little under pressure sometimes so don't go here if you're in a particular rush - they're doing their best - and you shouldn't be rushing when you're here anyway! Oh - bring cash - they don't take cards

“Solid food”
Reviewed 30 October 2013

Very small cafe, but largely deserted as it was a cold and wet day.

Good cafe food, didn't expect more.

Excellent friendly service.

Sensible prices.
