Both my partner and myself have been to the Crawfordsburn numerous amounts of times for over night stays, weddings etc and have thoroughly enjoyed it however this time was not the same. We bought a treat ticket voucher which entitled us to an over night stay, 2 course meal and a glass of wine each. We stayed in room Azilia which was your standard room at the old Inn. We went for our dinner at 8 pm and we're greeted by a lovely young waitress however we were isolated from the rest of the restaurant in a side room on our own. We continued to order what we always have when we come to the restaurant, the soup followed by the chicken supreme. The quality of food was horrendous and definitely not up to the previous standard we have had before. The chicken was dry and the soup was tasteless. Overall a complete let down. It was my boyfriends birthday and we were expecting to have a beautiful meal. I feel that because we used a treat ticket voucher we were isolated from the rest of the restaurant not given the correct standard of food or service which is ridiculous. I usually rave about the old Inn however this has put me off and I don't think we will be returning anytime soon.

Dear Ashleigh Jane H, Thank you for taking the time to post a review on Tripadvisor. We were sorry to see that you did not enjoy your recent visit with us. We have had great success with our treat ticket promotions and how wonderful that you were able to bag such a great deal on a Saturday evening. Please be assured that Treat Ticket bookings are treated with no less respect than any other booking and in fact your reservation had been upgraded to a deluxe room. We have shared your comments on the food with the brigade in the kitchen and hope that your experience does not deter you from visiting us again in future. Kind regards, the team at The Old Inn.

This place is great. The rooms are quite luxurious and cosy. The corridors creak as you walk along which adds to the charm. Thanks to Gail for the laughs and too many drinks for my hubby and brother in law, he is still on about your Irish Coffee!! Also a huge thank you to Rio for looking after our big group in the Restaurant so well. Can't fault this place, great food and charming staff.

Dear Reviewer, Thank you for taking the time to post a review on Tripadvisor. We were delighted to see that you enjoyed your recent visit with us. We were particularly pleased that you have singled out Gail and Rio for particular praise, as they have not been with the team for a comparatively long time. We are also glad to see that the Irish coffees hit the spot and that your husband and brother in law had a comfortable environment to rest, once they had taken effect! We look forward to welcoming you again soon. Kind regards, the team at The Old Inn.

This has always been our favourite place to stay for anniversaries and birthdays.
We just love everything about the hotel from the cleanliness ,food and the friendliness of the staff.
We decided to have dinner b&b with friends and as usual everything was perfect and the food at ,both dinner and breakfast was fantastic.
Just one thing at dinner we think should be improved.
We ordered our wine with dinner and asked for a jug of water but were told as there was a venue on all the jugs were being used and they had only three jugs in the restaurant so we could only have a glass or a bottle of still !
We ordered the "large " still but it was quite small for four people so when we ordered another bottle of wine we again just asked for tap water but were brought another still. We sent it back and that wasn't a a problem and they gave us each a glass from one of the jugs .
When the bill arrived the bottle of water we had got was £5 so we were glad we hadn't taken the other one.
These days most restaurants give water jugs or trendy bottles as standard and I think that's a nice touch .
It certainly won't stop us returning ,we're already booking in July as we just love it .

Dear LA.CO.ANTRIM, Thank you for taking the time to post another great review on Tripadvisor, your support is greatly appreciated. On the point of our water, it is our own preference to offer tap water by the glass as well as offering still or sparkling mineral. This is purely for asthetics, and we are sorry if this caused you any inconvenience or embarrassment. We are delighted, however, to see that you enjoyed the quality of the food and the friendliness of the staff and we look forward to welcoming you back in July. Kind regards, the team at The Old Inn.

Stayed here on Easter Tuesday nite. Arrived at 3pm to be told room wasn't ready despite check in advertised as 3pm. Eventually was allocated room at 3.50pm. Disappointing start. Room was nice with rose petal turn down and chocolates. Booked dinner for 8pm in restaurant, service was slow to take order but the food was great. I enjoy the ambiance of the restaurant but felt at times that I was in the way of staff as they cleared tables around me and set them for breakfast.
Breakfast was great, cooked to order and plentiful. Check out time is 11am and at 10.55am the bedroom door opened with a roar of 'housekeeping'. Given we were delayed getting room by 50mins, it would've been a nice gesture to be given additional time checking out..alas not to be.
I think I would go back to eat in restaurant but would not be inclined to stay as I felt like an inconvenience to staff who despite making me wait to get my room couldn't wait to get rid of me at 11am next day.

We stayed at The Old Inn for 2 nights as part of a family trip. The food was absolutely fantastic and the staff are an absolute credit to the hotel. The reception, waiting and bar staff could not have been more helpful during our stay, especially the waiting staff. There was no wifi due to a technical issue and no alternative in an area where mobile signal was poor, which is the only minor criticism I could have of this delightful hotel.

Dear Graham, thank you for taking the time to post a review on Tripadvisor. We are delighted to see that you enjoyed your recent stay with us and that you particularly enjoyed the food and the service afforded to you by our waiting team. We are sorry that our wifi signal was out when you stayed, unfortunately this was caused by an electrical surge. We hope that this did not detract from your stay too much. We look forward to seeing you the next time you visit Northern Ireland. Kind regards, the team at The Old Inn.

My wife and I visited the old inn last Saturday night for a night away having stayed on many occasions in the past and as always as soon as you are greeted by the log fire in reception and check in you feel like you are a world away.
Having checked in we took a long walk through the country park which is accessed from a path to the side of the inn before returning for a drink before dinner.
We stayed for the first time in a new room ,Mount Stewart which was first class and very comfortable . We had a table booked in the Lewis restaurant which gave us a great view of the action in the very busy kitchen .I would highlight that all of the meals leaving the pass were personally monitored by either Danny or Paul Rice ( the owners) talk about hands on. We both had an excellent meal finished off with coffee in the lounge.
The next morning once again a busy breakfast was overseen by Paul .It is very clear that the old inn remains so special because of the hard work and attention to detail . All of the staff were very friendly and obliging as always . Looking forward to returning before too long.

Dear John B, Thank you for taking the time to posta review on Tripadvisor. We were delighted to see that enjoyed your recents stay with us so much. We are very lucky that we are located on the very edge of Crawfordsburn Country Park and it really does have some very stunning scenery including waterfalls. Thank you also for your kind words on our food. Although we have maintained our 2 AA rosettes for a very long time, our directors take nothing for granted and it is quite normal to see at least one of the family, during the busy service periods. We look forward to welcoming you back again soon. Kind regards, the team at The Old Inn.
