Silence, the traces of the old port only just recognisable, swans beyond the reeds. A view across the Quoile to the cathedral on the hill. Peace.

We were recommended this visit and, although tricky to find, it is well worth the effort. It was quite a grey day when we set off, but the low cloud on the journey over the narrow causeways and around the waters edge truly added an air of mystery and atmosphere. The ruins on the site and information boards are very interesting; it's packed with history and science (how did we forget to use tidal energy?) and I found it easy to imagine how the people lived and functioned in this remote location. The small, unobtrusive information centre is educational, both for adults and children.

Interesting old archaeological site, complete with informative boards. Had the place to ourselves when we visited, so was nice place to kick back and take in Strangford Lough. Small site but worth a visit if you are in the area and can find it!

Been living only a few miles from this place for years but only recently visited. Have been there countless times since. Something very special here. The views are simply amazing.

I live quite close by and go very often, it's one of my favourite places. So peaceful and quiet with beautiful views. An insight into the history at the visitors centre. It's also lovely for a picnic or a stroll around. My granddaughter loves it and can run around to her hearts content. We always take any of our visitors there. Summer or winter it's a truly beautiful spot.
