The menu changes with the seasons. Just 40 minutes down the coast from Edinburgh and its airport, Ducks Inn nestles in the sleepy village of Aberlady . Ducks Inn has one of Scotland's top whisky bars housing around one hundred malt whiskies including a collection from the Scotch Malt Whisky Society of which Ducks Inn is a Home from Home partner bar. The wine list is one of the finest in Scotland and complements the outstanding menu in Ducks Restaurant. The Bar is very traditional, filled with golfing memorabilia and bar putting games. Real Ales are also a feature and Doombar is a regular with two guest beers rotating regularly. The Bar at Ducks Inn also features a large humidor filled with Cubans. You will always find a fond welcome when you Duck Inn to The Bar at Ducks Inn!

“Best food in East Lothian”
Reviewed 4 August 2014

Just had lunch at Donalds in Aberlady and wow, we were so impressed. This is fine dining/gastro pub quality but in a really informal setting. Flavours and quality of everything we ate was superb and it was really nice to see smaller portions available for some of the main meals - just a nice size for lunch if you've got to go back to work. It highly recommend this place, great staff, great service. If you've not tried it or not been for a long time then get it on your list as the next place to go.

“60th Birthday Dinner”
Reviewed 4 August 2014

Superb food and service. I had the steak and it was cooked to perfection.

The waiting staff were very attentive and ensured all plates were taken away in a timely manner and drink refills made

“Lovely soup”
Reviewed 3 July 2014

We only dropped in for a plate of soup which was delicious but we met with the owner and two very efficient waitresses. We realised this was a place we would like to visit again.

“Best burger ever!”
Reviewed 10 June 2014

Two of us dropped in to Donald's Bistro at Kilspindie House in the charming village of Aberlady for lunch, and we were certainly not disappointed! On arrival, we were well received at the bar and later welcomed by mine host, Malcolm Duck, and each of us enjoyed one of their fine ales before being offered the bistro menu.
My Cullen Skink and my friend's soup of the day were both excellent, followed by one tasty fish and chips and one of the finest home-made burgers that I've ever eaten!
Suffice to say that we went on our way well satisfied, having thoroughly enjoyed both the food and the experience. It's a great place both for golfers and for other visitors, and I can highly recommend it to anyone visiting in the local area.

“Quality gastro-pub fare”
Reviewed 30 May 2014

Donald's offers a good quality food with a relaxed atmosphere. The range of dishes is excellent, though there is a bit of a contrast between the slight, chef-y starters and puddings, and the heavy, substantial main courses. If you know that's what you're expecting, though, you can treat yourself to a wide variety of tastes over a three-course meal, without walking away from the table uncomfortably full. Beyond the food, though, Donald's is a pub. The selection of Whiskeys and after-dinner drinks is phenomenal, though they would do better to allow some of the pub atmosphere to drift over into the bistro dining area, which can feel a little anonymous. Overall, a good meal and helpful staff - great for a bit of a treat or a night out with a few friends.
