Very relaxing location. The rooms are spotless with plenty of space. Beds are big and very comfortable. Restaurant service staff are very pleasant, helpful and service is unbelievably quick. We will definitely come back when we visit Scotland again. The Golf course is lovely and plenty of them around.

Found this place by chance on internet. It has not been opened very long as hotel. It is the clubhouse for Craigielaw Golf Club but have added 25 rooms on. The rooms are spotless and have everything you need. Breakfast was very good with loads to eat. We had our main meal here both nights of our stay and it was excellent. The staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough. My other half was on crutches and they wanted to change our room to a ground floor one as they don't have a lift but we liked the view from the original room. John the manager went out of his way to take the time to speak to us and say goodbye as we would not see him in the morning. We will be back there and would recommend it even though golf is not your idea of fun. You don't even have to be a member to go for a meal.

Room Tip: Opt for a quiet room with a golf view. The view looks right over the river forth.

The rooms here are excellent and the staff and service are first rate. Breakfast is fantastic and we have also dined here and found it to be excellent also. Well worth using as a base to explore Edinburgh and East Lothian but don't tell everyone or they will all want to come!

Room Tip: Try to get a room with views across the Firth if Forth, they are spectaukar

This is the first time I have been so impressed by hospitality that I have wanted to write a review in appreciation. Although The Lodge at Craigielaw is an adjunct to a golf club, a warm, welcoming ambiance has been created for both golfers and non-golfers. The staff at Craigielaw are smart, friendly and enthusiastic. We had a superb evening meal and then enjoyed a stroll around the area as the Midsummer’s Day sun set over the Firth of Forth. Our room and en suite were very tastefully decorated, comfortable, clean and spacious. Sunday morning breakfast was excellent. We loved every minute of our short stay and can't wait to come back.

We've had several short stays at the Lodge at Craigielaw and it has now definitely become our first choice accommodation whilst visiting Edinburgh and the surrounding area. We visited again in May of 2014 and the experience just gets better and better. The accommodation is modern, clean and well presented, the rooms and en suites provide every comfort and the beds are also very comfortable, ensuring a great night's sleep. The staff are always exceptionally warm, welcoming and attentive and the locally sourced food is nothing short of delicious! We'll definitely be back again this year!

Room Tip: Even though all rooms provide excellent comfort, if you can secure a ground or first floor sea facin...

We stayed here for two nights while attending a wedding at nearby Gosford House.

Beautiful location, spotlessly clean rooms, lovely staff and excellent food. All in all highly recommended!

We didn't try out the golf course on this occasion but plan on returning at some point to do that.

What a fantastic place to stay. Cannot find any faults. The staff are so helpful and friendly and couldnt do enough for us. We stayed for a wedding which was taking pace up the road. Our room was ready early for us so we could get ready. The rooms and bed are massive and a fantastic shower. Cleanest hotel I have ever stayed in. Beautiful views across the golf course. Highly recommend a stay if you are in the area.
