We did not stay in hotel but had a wonderful dinner in the restaurant which we could not fault in any way. The fillet steak in my opinion could not have been bettered. Sticky toffee pud with butterscotch sauce and ice cream which followed was to die for.
The staff were attentive without being overbearing and very friendly. The restaurant itself was cosy and very quaint right down to the tealights which were actually in bone china teacups and saucers.
Would certainly recommend this establishment and we would have no hesitation in returning,

Room Tip: Cannot advise as we did not spend the night here.

I love my teacups too, so glad that you also liked them (cannot say how many people are now copying it). Thank you so much for your very nice comments - I will of course let the chefs and staff know.
Delighted to offer you our hospitality any time in the future.
Kind regards,
Michelle

I visited the restaurant with my husband and parents for Sunday lunch. What a treat. The food was exceptional. The others had the traditional roast with all the trimmings and I had liver with bacon etc. The meat was cooked to perfection and the vegetables were crisp but not hard. The puddings were wonderful and all the waiting staff were friendly and attentive without being intrusive. I would thoroughly recommend this lovely restaurant - the setting and surroundings are also very pretty.

We stayed here for one night as we were visiting our daughter.Had tried to book for the full weekend but fully booked by wedding party. They only have six rooms and we have tried on several occasions to book so that says enough for itself.. The room was at the front and the main railway line across the road did not disturb us. Room was small but comfortable and cosy. Now the food we ate in Haldanes upstairs The starters were great double baked cheese souffle followed by sea bass then rubarb crumble. The wine list was reasonably priced and a very good selection. We would recommend booking Haldanes as it is only open Fridays & Saturdays. The young staff were well trained and very pleasant.

Had a very good meal at a very good price.
The Linton is the one of the very few decent country pubs in East Lothian, that females feel comfortable in as much as the men.
I have heard the rooms are perfectly good but I have not stayed myself

My wife and I and our six year old son went to The Linton last night and the food was superb. Very tasty, freshly cooked veg to accompany some delicious main courses.
Very good ales on tap too.
We'll definitely be returning to The Linton!
