Stayed here for work. Rooms were a little old fashioned but clean, warm and clean. Shower was good. Service was really good and food in the restaurant was good wholesome fayre. I stayed at the front so it was a little noisy with traffic, but I slept well in a comfy bed.

Hotel is clean, staff friendly, good breakfast. Room number 8 requires a new bed urgently. Worst mattress I've slept on in my life, lumpy and raises at the feet. I got 2 hours sleep when I eventually cocooneed myself in the duvet and slept on the floor!

Room Tip: Ask for room to back of hotel as front is on main road and noisy.

Stopped off for an evening meal as staying elsewhere in the area & The Woodside had been recommended. Staff extremely welcoming & service excellent. We were offered a special 2 course meal at a reduced rate as we were eating before 6pm. Food was well presented & well cooked. The dining room is wonderful . It had been on a ship which sailed with mail to Australia in the late 1800s. When it was broken up the interiors were saved & the dining room was installed in this hotel. Worth eating here just to view the ceiling!!

We stayed at this hotel and really enjoyed it. I realised that I had actually stayed here about 20 years ago with my friends family! Lovely room, clean and quiet except for a jazz band that got up about 11pm and went on until 2am. Said to reception in the morning and turned out nothing in hotel or houses around about so remains a mystery!!! Ate in restaurant and was great food and service. We would stay again and fingers crossed next time no ghostly jazz bands!!!

This was a fantastic little hotel. It was clean and comfortable, and in a lovely location. Breakfast was really tasty (my partner actually proclaimed the sausages the best he's ever had), and we ate in the restaurant one night which was really nice as well. They even do room service! The only thing we didn't like was having to hand in our room key every time we left the building, but that wasn't a massive problem by any means. We weren't sure when we first arrived, but the between the very friendly staff and good food, it definitely grew on us!

Room Tip: We weren't in one, but after peaking in...the 4 post bed rooms look lovely. We were on an upper...

Broke our journey from Hertfordshire to Inverness - and so pleased we found this lovely coastal hotel with car parking to the rear. Very friendly staff providing us with all the information we needed. Lovely room. just right for us - plenty of tea / coffee making facility. Evening meal in the restaurant was good quality for the size of hotel and excellent value. Take a look at the glass ceiling and panelling from the first class dining place of the Orantes', from the Orient shipping line. Enjoy a walk down to the shore- only 5 mins away, as is the station. Breakfast was prompt and very much to our liking before we set hot foot to a wedding.. We're coming back here next year when we 'do' the Edinburgh Festival - far better than a B&B!!.

Room Tip: Choose a room looking to the front of the hotel.
