From making initial enquiries everything about the Aberdour was a very good experience. Our motorcycle tour group was able to park securely and made to feel welcome. The bar had a time worn traditional feel and comfort which was perfect. The beer was good (in Good Beer guide). The bedrooms & bathrooms are fitted to a good standard, proving very comfortable, clean and fully functioning. Evening menu was very good but leaned towards gastro. Group preference would have been same quality in solid traditional pub style. Breakfast was excellent. Everyone there was very friendly. In the morning you can stroll to the waterside and around the village which was very pleasant.
Everyone said they would go back without hesitation.

Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable, easily adjusted heating. The welcome was warm and the breakfast excellent.

My husband and I recently stayed at Aberdour Hotel on the night of our wedding at nearby Aberdour Castle and were very impressed by how helpful and friendly the staff were. The decor of the rooms was very contemporary and tasteful and the meals in the restaurant were delicious. Our friends and close family also stayed at the hotel and Scott and his team were extremely welcoming to our entire party. After the wedding, we all strolled back to the hotel and had a few drinks in the residents bar. It was a perfect ending to a perfect day!

We found the Aberdour Hotel when we had a disappointing experience with accomodation in Edinburgh and decided to get out of the city. We left Edinburgh and went over the Forth Bridge and found the pretty town of Aberdour. After a big day travelling we decided to try the Aberdour Hotel. What a wonderful surprise. We had a 'Stable' room in an old pub and were made to feel welcome straight away. We had only planned to stay one night but had such a good time we decided to stay another. The proximity to Edinburgh by train was excellent and easy. We ended up staying a total of 4 nights because we enjoyed the hospitality and environment so much. The hosts couldnt have been more helpful when we realised there were problems continuing our journey due to volcano ash which meant we couldnt leave by air which we had planned. They were great in helping us get information to get on with our trip. We just loved the place and the people and would love to go back tomorrow. The train station is a delight and has to be seen to be believed, straight out of 'Postman Pat'! Can't thank Scott and Iona enough for their help and hospitality. Great!

Luck was on our side when someone canceled their reservation at The Aberdour for Open Championship Week, and we managed to book their room! Thank you, Margaret, for helping us get the reservation squared away. We have traveled around the world, and cannot remember a place with friendlier people in every capacity. Full marks for the staff, the food (seafood chowder is outstanding), and the village itself. Well-appointed room and bath; easy access to village, shoreline, golf courses, and rail station (which in itself is charming and well-run). There must be something in the air in Aberdour ---- a real attention to customer-service everywhere. Special thanks to Lavinia at the hotel who charmed us from day 1! She was the best promoter of her town and hotel imaginable --- just the kind of person any hotel would be delighted to have working with their guests. We will definitely be back!

Having just spent three days at the hotel with my wife, we must say this has been one of the best family run hotels we have stayed in. From the pleasant greeting from Margaret who explained everything we needed to know. The breakfasts were first class. The evening meal, the food was cooked fresh and served hot. The kitchen and bar staff could not do enough for you. Scot went out of his way to make sure everything was ok, during our stay. When next in the area we will certainly stay there again.

We stayed here as we had tickets for T in the Park but didn't fancy camping! This meant that we did not spend to much time at the hotel or in the area but I wish we had. The room was large and comfortable, staff were friendly and breakfast wasn't bad either.
